Does soy milk vary in taste depending on the brand?!

Question: I tried some brand of (I can't remember what it was) vanilla soy milk and it was gross, but I love Silks chocolate soy milk. Do you think if I get the Silk brand vanilla soy milk that it could be better than the other brand I bought, or do they all taste the same? Thanks.

Yes it does. I have tried a few different brands and they all seem to taste different, but I don't like any of them except the chocolate. If you find that you don't like the vanilla soy milk, try the vanilla rice milk. That is what I like to use in cereal.

often times they taste similar. but you may have gotten the unswetened soy milk and i find that disgusting. i also llike the Silk brand soy milk. At costco and some other places you can get choco silk soy milk in little containers. But the vanilla tastes good to me. in the end its your opinion but i like the vanilla one. CHOCOLATE SOY MILK IS STILL THE BEST THOUGH.

Silk vanilla is the best one I've tasted! They all taste different, to me at least.

No, the taste varies widely.

Before I got a soy allergy, I LOVED all the Silk brand soymilks. They're delicious - try the vanilla, it's really good, especially with breakfast cereal or fruit. Mmmmmm.

Yes it does and I wish I could tell you the name brand that I found to be best while checking it out. I do know where I got it, which was Food Basket in their healthy foods section just down from the bakery. All their stores are layed out the same. It was reasonably priced too. Old habits die hard and I'm back on the hard stuff. That 2% Moo Cow is just a hard addiction to beat.

Different brands taste different from brand to brand. I personally couldn't go the vanilla soy. It has a texture that milk isn't supposed to have. I kinda tolerated it in my rice krispies with a banana cut up in it, but I had to eat it quickly because it made the cereal very mushy, very quickly. I spoke to some friends about my dilemma, and they suggested that I ask my doctor if I could switch to lactate milk. I asked my doctor, and she said I could switch to lactaid milk. I am MUCH happier! To me, it tastes like real milk, especially after forcing myself to use soy milk. I changed from fat-free milk due to health reasons, though, I do not know if you are changing because you want to be a vegan? I hope this helps you. I do want to add, though, that tofu & soy ice cream, cream cheese & sour cream taste like the real thing and you can cook with the cream cheese & sour cream. In fact, my family doesn't know that I use lactaid milk when cooking and soy or tofu cream cheese and sour cream also while cooking. And I have 11 year old twins and a husband who isn't easily fooled!

i think u shoul get the silk brand stuff. the tastew does change, but ussally not by much.

I prefer Organic Valley Unsweetened. I'll drink any brand as long as it is unsweetened. The vanilla stuff is just liquid candy. As far as Silk, I try to not give money to Dean Foods (owner of the Silk brand) as they have horrid business ethics and run the largest factory farms in the US.

Yes they do, often you have to find the one that works for you.

Yes, it varies.

Have you tried rice milk ??

It seems watery when you pour it but tastes nice.

You already got so many answers. Add this one too.

I have tried V8 continental (is this right?) vanilla flavor. I couldn't stand it. Then i tried Silk brand vanilla soy milk and i like it. I drink this everyday. Did not taste silk chocolate milk yet.

If you have a sweet tooth, you need to try Silk's Very Vanilla.

For something more mild but with the best flavor, try Almond Breeze.

YES.
I personally think the Silk line of Soy Milk is best.
I also like Almond Breeze Milks allot.

The tastes totally vary!! There's only a couple of brands I really like. Unsweetened usually tastes pretty much the same, no matter which brand. But vanilly, sometimes is thicker, or sweeter, etc...

Silk's is pretty good, and I also really like Vitasoy smooth vanilla.

I hope this helps. :-)
