Does soy milk give you brain damage?!
Answers: provide solid evidence please and thank you!
There only way that could happend is if a baby is given soy milk instead of breast milk, and is not given any B12 supplement. There could be a risk of nerve or brain damage. But it's not the soy milk "causing" it, it's the lack of adequate nutrition at a crucial developmental stage.
If they are not referring to unweaned babies, I would say it is quackery.
Someone must really have it in for soy--so far I have heard it makes men feminine, causes cancer and thyroid problems. None of this is supported by the FDA or the American Dietetic Association.
It's possible for a research study to have oddball findings like that, but the research needs to be repeated several times with the same results for any dramatic claims to be credible.
There is one quack doctor named Mercola who is spreading all kinds of false claims about soy and other things. Dr. Mercola has been sued by the FDA for false claims regarding products he is selling. That gives him very poor credibility as far as I am concerned. Here is a link:

(or, you can just google "mercola soy fda."
Some people might have allergies or metabolic disorders that cause unusual reactions to certain foods.
For example, phenylketonuria is a metabolic disorder where the body can't catabolize amino acids, and people with this disorder often develop brain damage.
But I can't see how soy would cause a harmful reaction in a person who doesn't have one of those problems. I never heard of any food that does anything like that. Artificial sweeteners like cyclamates, saccharine, and asparatame are food additives that are known to cause health problems, but none of these are "food" per se, they are chemical additives.
I've been drinking that stuff for years and it hasn't bothered me any. If anything it should make you smarter because it has some Omega 3 - not as much as fish or flax seeds but it has some.
Can you give me solid evidence that it causes brain damage?
I have never heard such crap b 4 plaese tell me where u heard this?
There have been some links to alzeimers( with heavy consumption of all soy products) but no conclusive evidence.
Dairy industry propaganda. In any case, you could drink rice milk, almond milk, carrot milk, etc...
I'm no stupider and I'm a drinkin it all d time.
Yoo meen pig milk? Noe I'm knot brain damijd.
It does not cause brain damage. I don't care for it myself but to say it causes brain damage is beyond silly.
Maybe she was drinking it rotten or something, lol.
Never heard that -- but it can mess with your hormones, both females and males.
i heard the same thing
but i don't drink or eat soy
I hate it!
My goodness that is hilarious!
The Chinese and Japanese have diets high in soy (milk, tofu, and in various daily food products), and traditionally no dairy, and they whoop our a**es in school. Brain damaged? Hardly! More like this theory has got it completely back to front! LOL :)
But anyone knows that if you have way too much of anything it can't be good for you, though.
There are links to soy consumption and brain damage, reduced libido and birth defects. Soy is loaded with phytoestrogens which screw up you hormonal balance. Essentially, soy is poison.
And contrary to popular believe, people in Asia DO NOT eat a lot of soy. The average consumption is about 2 teaspoons a day. It was only eaten as a substitute for meat in time of shortage. The Japanese prefer fish and the Chinese prefer pork. In Asia, Buddhists monks eat a lot of soy to reduce their libidos.
One study linked soy consumption and Alzheimers disease. Check the last link.
no but if you don't get enough of the b12 vitamin thats wat cuases brain damage so get the vitamin supplement if you vegan look at the ingredients cos some of them r vegetarian
