Eating meat...Is there something wrong with me?!
Answers: Is there something wrong with me? Everytime I eat something containing meat of any kind I can't help but think about the poor animal that had to die and the cruel ways you hear and see people killing these animals, it gets really upsetting and I can't eat it. I know becoming a vegeterian wont change the world.
If there is something wrong with you, there is something wrong with millions of people all over the world (and me too). I began to feel what your feeling when I was 11, and stopped eating meat just before my 13th b-day (and I'm turning 30 soon!!!). I never expected or even hoped to change the world, but at least I feel good about my choice day in and day out, and it is more rewarding then you'll ever know (until you try, that is :-)
There is nothing wrong with showing compassion to animals.
Don't ever say that what you do doesn't make a difference. If you want to stop eating meat, just do it. You may not see meat consumption end in your lifetime, but you could be a part of the beginning of a great change.
‘Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.’
— Margaret Mead
Don't eat meat, if that's your preference.
ditto tht!
You're not alone. They are others out there, that feel the same way. It is okay to feel that way. Just don't eat meat, if that is how you feel. Don't need to feel weird or different either, there is nothing wrong with it.
Its very special you feel that way, and its very hard to commit to the Vegetarian/Vegan lifestyle. It may not change the world but as a meat eater you can make a stand against companies that test on animals or treat animals inhumanely. Dont buy that companies products. In that way maybe your love and compassion for animals can make a difference. For companies that test on animals look up the anti Vivesection Society, they offer a list.
Becoming a vegetarian does help change the world. Go for it, especially if you just end up not enjoying it. Check out "Diet for a Small Planet" by Frances Moore Lappe for more information about how bad a meat based diet is for the environment, as well as many yummy recipes full of protein.
There's nothing wrong with feeling compassion for the billions of "food" animals tortured and slaughtered every year. What's wrong is when people see videos like these http://www.chooseveg.com/animal-cruelty.... and think that it's perfectly o.k.
Every person who's vegetarian saves about 100 animals a year... the numbers add up and do make a big difference. I encourage you to check out http://www.vegcooking.com/makingthetrans... for lots of transition tips, if vegetarianism is something you're interested in. Good luck!!
If every vegetarian thought that, then there would be no vegetarians! Life's good being a veggie!!
No, there's nothing wrong with you. There'd be something wrong with you if you *weren't* upset about what happens to the animals who are bred to become food. Most vegetarians grow up as meat eaters, and they have all come to the realization that there's something wrong with eating the flesh of animals.
Now, it's true one person becoming vegetarian won't change the world. But it's still a positive change nonetheless because of the butterfly effect. A butterfly flapping her wings in Japan can change weather patterns in Virginia, or so the saying goes. Thing is, it takes time to do so. So say you become vegetarian, and you let the your family and friends know. They may be curious about vegetarian foods. They'll probably have to make sure when they cook for you that there's something you can eat. When you go out with your friends, they'll have to go to a place with vegetarian options. They may not go veg, but they may find themselves eating less meat because they realize meat-free meals are pretty good. And getting people to eat less meat is a definite step in the right direction.
there is nothing wrong w/ that! that's how my vegetarianism got started. then i researched and was even more convinced it was the right decision. i read somewhere that the average vegetarian saves about 100 animals per year, just by cutting out meat. that's 100 lives, 100 hearts. just do your research. & you can be veggie. & be proud of it. you can change the world!
It is your choice.
A lot of people are vegitarian but not always because they are feeling bad for animals, most models are because meat can ruin skin etc.
Dont let anybody force you to be a Vegitarian, I am a Vegi, but it is just immoral to force another person or pressure them into becoming a Vegi.
If when you eat meat and feel sympathy for the animals and disgusted out, dont let what others say (Vegi's are weird, Meat was made for a reason) pressure you.
Their is nothing wrong with you, you just come at an important lifestyle choice in your life.
Every step changes something..no 1 person changes the whole world.
But going Veggie or Vegan will change you & your health.
How can caring be wrong?
That is the way I felt, so I quit eating them. I feel much better now. And you are making a difference if you go veg., think of all the animals that wont have to be bred and killed for you. But it is your choice, do what you want, not what any veg. or meat eater says.
There's nothing wrong with it. Some people feel that way naturally, others don't. Eat what you think is appropriate and what makes you comfortable.
YES THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU.
The way I see it is that humans are animals too. The mere design of our mouths is evidence that we were intended to eat meat. When you consider how other species of carnivores eat meat, we're actually very humane about it.
