I want to become a vegetarian?!

Question: I really want to eliminate meat from animals from my diet but I find it very hard to do. When I tried for two months a few years ago, I ended up looking anorexic because I lost so much weight.

How can I become a healthy vegetarian? And can I be a veggie (not Vegan) while keeping Sushi/Fish in my diet?

Serious answers only please .......thanks xo

Of course you are a vegetarian if most of your food comes from plants and a small percentage from fish/Sushi.

The great vegetarian cultures include fish and/or poultry in their diets. They also have the healthiest diets. "Strict" vegetarians are a small minority.

Fish is wonderful and healthy to include. Many of us who are Flexitarian vegetarians and flexitarian vegans include fish/seafood. Google Flexitarian Diets and you will see.

good go for it...

a lot of vegetarians will eat fish they acknowledge that they are not true vegetarians but thats just a lable

well first of all take vitamins! so you can still have your protein & all that, that you're missing out on and you can eat sushi and fish those are very good for you make it on of your meals and eat lots of healthy food i guess you should be fine

u have to fine someway the replace the protien u are not taking in from the meat lots of vitiams give u protein if i were u i would ask my doc. what to do. when u are prenet it is not good to be a vegetarian

check your local stores for Boca and Morning Star products. I quit eating meat and i love their meat alternatives. They have everything from ground beef alternatives to chicken patties and nuggets.

of course you can keep fish in your diet...there are many kinds of vegetarians...I only eat fish as well..but I have eliminated red meat and chicken...

I think you can probably just like eat sushi and fish.
My friend is a vegetarian and she still eats fish and like milk and stuff.

pescetarian
you have to eat enoug hcalories so ou don't loose weight like depending on your age 1500 caloris to 2200

eat so much meat you throw up and then you won't want to eat anymore meat

A vegetarian doesn't eat fish. But here is a tip for you. Indian food has amazing vegetarian dishes.

Even though you won't be a true vegetarian - you can eat fish. I know someone who doesn't eat the meat of animals who nurture their young. So she eats fish.

It's a good way to get protein, but not feel bad about eating meat.

Don't think about what others think - think about what's best for you.

Vegetarian diets are entirely personal choices. Its not like we have a book of conduct and veggie police out there. If you want to cut out red meat / pork / chicken, but keep fish - well you CAN eat whatever you like, and you can choose NOT to eat whatever you like as well. Seriously, its fine. I know people that are basically veggies, but will eat chicken or fish if in a pinch. Whatever - they choose, you choose.

you can do what you want and eat what you want. Don't worry what other people call you or if you fit into someone's pigeon hole. If you want to eat fish and no cow/chicken/pork, go for it. Just be sure to get your protein.

ask cows and horses..

how they can survive by just eating grass...

but...

itz not healthy to be herbivore..

human is made to eat meat and veggies...

omnivore..

try to eat the vegetable, force yourself. maybe at first time you don't like it but sooner you will satisfied eating vegetable and you will become addicted to eat more vegetable. that's the technique.

I have been a vegetarian for 12 years and started by eliminating one thing at a time....red meat....then pork etc etc. I eat alot of Legumes and peanut butter to keep my protien and I also eat healthy grains for the good carbs.....hope I helped, good luck.

You cannot be a vegetarian if you eat fish.

You are wrong if you think it is bad to eat animals-- they were created for eating!

If you follow a vegan diet, you may need to find alternatives for eggs and dairy products. Try these suggestions when meal planning or cooking:

Milk. Drink fortified soymilk, rice milk or almond milk in place of cow's milk.
Butter. When sauteing, use olive oil, water, vegetable broth, wine or nonfat cooking spray instead of butter. In baked goods, use canola oil.
Cheese. Use soy cheese or nutritional yeast flakes, which are available in health food stores.
Eggs. In baked goods, try commercial egg replacers — a dry product made mostly of potato starch. Or you can use the following to replace one egg: 1/4 cup whipped tofu or 1 tablespoon milled flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons of water. For an egg-free omelet try using tofu instead of eggs.

check out this website its really helpful

You know beans will keep you healthy and you can add different things to the beans like veggies to make it more hearty. Eating a fish like a Cat fish or a salmon will keep the weight on you, and dip your veggies in ranch dressing cause that just tastes great.

They also have fake meat you can eat too, and that works when you want a hamburger or some pizza with stuff on it. mmm veggie pizza

you cant become a vegetarian while keeping sushi and fish in your diet, and try harder

You need some protein. Seems that I read somewhere that you could eat rice and beans together to get protein. Anyway, your muscles need protein to grow and stay strong. You could use protein powder, I suppose. You stir it into water and drink it, or sprinkle it on your food. And there are calories there, so it would help keep your weight up.

u need to eat lots of veggies and if you really want to become 1 then there is dietary supplements (tablets) that you can take to give you vitamens and stuff that meat gives you but with your meals you should have some fish or sushi with most of your meals

I am almost a vegetarian but i do like some meat. Dont force yourself to become one if your loseing to much weight just maybe cut down a little more meat every week. Like frist take away the meat you like but dont love and keep going until there gone. But if you still lose alot of weight then eat some meats but not all.Maybe try tofo meats. If you do become a vegetarian make sure you you still eat alot of potein. But please dont stop eating al meats if you loss alot of meat. Talk to your doctor and HE/SHE should be able to help. Good luck!!!! Happy hoildays!!!

If you were eating fish the last time you tried, and you were losing weight, then you either weren't eating enough fish or you have some kind of digestive disorder. Fish will more than make up for the meat you have stopped eating. Try eating more fish. If this doesn't work, consult a doctor.

If you want to keep fish in your diet, then that's called Pescetarianism. It's a good diet to follow. Assuming you're keeping dairy and eggs?

What you have to do is look at the food pyramid. Where it says meats/proteins you'll have to substitute with equivilent portions of fish, egg, beans/legumes, nuts and some soy (too much soy is bad). This takes planning. Also vegetarian/pescetarian meals take more time to prepare and there are few options when you're traveling and need something fast.

What you need to do is follow the guidelines and health advice for a vegetarian diet and add fish in as well. You'll want to eat fish at least once a day, and make certain that if fish is eaten as your dinner then you'll need some good protein in the morning (could be eggs) and at lunch (soy, nuts, beans).

DO NOT EAT TUNA EVERYDAY. Fish such as tuna, shark, and swordfish contain higher levels of mercury. It will drain your energy and cause other health problems. One of my sources below has a mercury chart for fish.

Also, you should always take a multi-vitamin just in case you miss something. And get a cookbook for fish (hint, they cook quicker and are easy to bake or grill) that way you won't get bored and can try many different varieties.

Eat a well balanced diet. It's the best thing you can do. I find it took me a while before those burger cravings went away, but they eventually do. Trust me.

Oh, and here are some of my favourite vegetarian foods:

Egg noodle stir-fry (with soy sauce and veggies)
vegetable-stock soup (in your cause, you could add fish slices)
vegetarian lasagna (you can buy it pre-made)
soy "chicken" nuggets

You can't be vegetarian if you eat fish. Vegetarians do not eat the flesh of ANY animal, and this includes sea creatures.

You have to make sure you get enough calories (never a problem for me!) if you're going to be vegetarian. Since you lose weight easily, eat more nuts, avocados, and vegetable oils--all healthy fats. And if you get enough calories, and they're not all from junk food, you will get enough protein.

you go girl!!
