What is folic acid, and why cant a vegan not have it?!
First it was protein, then iron, now the rumor is about folic acid? LOL In fact, folic acid is named after plants (folate = foliage = green leaves)
Answers: Asparagus is an excellent source of folic acid, as is spinach and other green veggies. Overcooking destroys folic acid.

Folic acid is Vitamin B9 and your wrong vegans can have it as long as it didn't come from an animal source.
Leafy vegetables such as spinach and turnip greens, dried beans and peas, fortified cereal products, sunflower seeds and certain other fruits and vegetables are rich sources of folic acid.
Why not? I eat it all the time. It's important for babies.
Folic acid is a B vitamin. Everyone, regardless of whether they are vegan or not, needs sufficient folic acid in their diet.
