How to eat healthy as a vegetarian?!
Answers: I went vegetarian couple of weeks ago.I lately I've been eating fruit salads and regular salad. For the past couple of days.I was wondering..How do I get right as a vegetarian? What do I need to have balanced diet?thanks
It sounds like you are replacing your meat with fruits and veggies. Is that right? If so, great. Most new vegetarians are tempted to replace the portion of their diet that used to be for meat with cheese and grains, which can be bad if they are eaten in excess. So it's good that you are trying to be well-balanced.
Also consider upping your bean and nut intake. I see you didn't mention either of those things and they are a very important part of a vegetarian diet.
Also, eat higher-quality foods, like whole-grain bread instead of white or romaine insread of iceburg lettuce. That way you'll get the most value out of what you are already eating.
Buy a vegetarian cookbook if you need more variation than just the salads.
sounds like youre doing the right thing honey by eating fruit etc make sure you also drink plenty of water and dark green leafy veg for iron.1 prob that us veggies suffer from is low iron
Getting enough protein is going to be your major issue. Experiment with meat substitutes--fake burgers, fake bacon--those actually can be good. Don't forget cheese, milk and eggs if you're not vegan. Tofu is a great addition as well, but a supplement of nuts will be extremely helpful.
