I don't like veggies?!
Answers: If I don't like veggies then will something bad happen? I like fruit. You know the usual, apples, grapes, oranges. But not veggis. I hate the texture of them! Can you tell me how to get used to them or is it ook not to like them???
You ask, "will something bad happen"? No, not really, nothing ominous and imminent. However, vegetables are good for you, lots of vitamins and fiber.
Maybe you can try slicing up carrots, cucumbers, celery and bell peppers and dipping them into a dip you like? You can puree veggies into sauces and smoothies and you'd never know because the other flavors in the food overpower the vegetable flavors.
Try a garden burger!
Drink V8
you dont have to like veggies, you can get the nutrition from vitamins, and other foods
don't go vegetarian or vegan
try diet Coke and peanuts
just eat them alot- start with salad and use lots of dressing youll get used to it after while
its okay if you don't like vegtables as long as you eat your fruits but still try to get some in every once in a while.:)
Steamed veggies are great, and good for you.
take vitamins, eat things like whole grains etc for ruffage but you can get all the vitamins you need in pill form.
You need to have vegetables to have a balanced diet. I would say, maybe get some vitamens from the store that you arent getting from the vegetables, :)
It is totally OK to dislike vegetables actually! Just be eating healthy and you will be perfect. I dislike veggies too, I am a very healthy girl. I think that you would be fabulous! Cute Icon!
Have you tried V8 or other vegetable juices?
I don't like the texture of vegetables either, So I just drink the juice!
muahahahah!
i dont think anything bad will happen to u but they do give u the vitamines that ur body needs. just keep eating them and u will get used to them
alot of people dont like them! personally i love brocoli! but just eat lots of fruit, and you should be fine
well i used to hate veggies until i started eating them more often...it takes at elast 12 times to try something you don;t like for your tastebuds to get used to it..then you'll be fine...just force yourself to try some
you can incorporate vegetables in cooked meals. you will get an additional nutritional kick from them by doing this.
I find it strange whenever someone says they don't like an entire food category. I understand not liking specific veggies, but how do you hate every single one? All that means is you need to expand a little bit and try new ones and new ways of preparing them.
My best advice to you is give them a try. There is not one vegetable that you like? Start by trying one and eat little by little, once your used to it go on to another vegetable, see if you like that as well. Also you could try to work them into dishes, such as pasta or chicken. There are a ton of uses and recipes for vegetables.
There is also alternatives such as V8, but nothing is better for you than pure natural vegetables.
blend it together with fruits.. bcome vegi-fruits juice
its fine not to like them, i have a small dislike for some, myself. What you can do is find good recipes that completely disguise the flavor and stuff, like a soup. Not everyone can get over their dislike of veggies, but what i sometimes have to do is just grit my teeth and take a few bites just to get it over with and you can make yourself a fruit salad after wards. Say, you can have one after you eat some sort of vegetable and then it could be a treat. make it a fun experience, nor an awful one.
If you get fresh veggies, they're not bad. Avoid anything canned or frozen! In the spring, visit your local farmers market, and they can help you prepare veggies so they taste great!
Well, "I don't like veggies" is a pretty broad statement. There are literally hundreds of different vegetables in the world! If you don't like the texture, try some raw, some lightly cooked, and some cooked thoroughly. There are starchy vegetables, green vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, orange/yellow vegetables, leafy vegetables, vegetables from every climate in the world....
I am sure that if you do a little experimenting, you will find several vegetables that you like just fine!
Fruits are good enough if you can't stomach vegetables. The silver backed gorilla is a fruitarian and is strong enough to toss a man across 2 lanes of traffic. However, have you ever tried coating your vegies in batter and deep frying them? Not exactly low cal but quite delicious with a white sauce.
You need to eat a balanced diet, and vegetables will be part of that. Just eat the vegetables you like. Not all vegetables are the same. Try eating them raw or cooking them in a stir fry.
Do you like mashed potatoes? Maybe you could blend a few veggies into a puree and mix them into the potatoes. A really good way to disguise them is to put them in spaghetti sauce. Or you can chop them well and add them to a meatloaf. Anyway, make sure you start with cooked veggies...raw veggies can be a hard way to start liking them.
Try mixing veggies wih your favorite fruits. You'll surely love it. Remember, tomato is a fruit. If you like tomato, therefore you can eat vegetables too. Why not try?
Not everyone likes everything. I loved canned or fresh peas, but I hate frozen peas. Maybe try eating them raw, like broccoli, caulitlower and carrots with a nice dip. Raw Vegetables are good for you, They are crunchy and they taste totally different than cooked
What do you dislike about the texture? Not all veggies have the same texture and you can change the texture by cooking them a little or a lot. If you don't like the mushy texture of highly cooked veggies, eat them raw or don't cook them so much. If you don't like the crunch of raw, then cook them. Not liking the texture isn't a reasonable argument.
Besides, what you like or dislike is pretty much all in your head. If you just keep telling yourself that you like something you can change what you like. I've done it so I know.
It's worth it with veggies because fruits are good but they're much higher in sugar content so, generally speaking, veggies are actually better for you. You can take vitamins but not all vitamins are very good and even if you have a high quality vitamin, your body doesn't absorb the nutrients from vitamins as well as it does from whole foods.
There must be SOME veggies you like--do you like salads? Stir-frys? I have never learned to like broccoli, but there are some veggies I've learned to like. I'll eat zucchini if it's prepared right. Carrots are pretty good dipped into hummus or salsa. If you like pureed soups, maybe you could take a bunch of veggies and create a soup puree that might be good. You could also shred a bunch of veggies and make vegetable fritters with them.
It's ok to not like them.. I don't like many of them cooked. I love every fruit though. I just take multi vitamins when I'm not able to eat enough veggies/fruit.
Just find a few that you like - there a lots of veggies out there. Canned green beans have a nice soft, smooth texture and a bland taste. You can chop up carrots and other veggies to boil in your soup. Lots of tomato sauces provide a serving of veggies. If you add them to other recipes you might find you like them. You could also check out this book called Deceptively Delicious which is full of recipes with hidden pureed veggies that you can't even taste. It's meant for small children but I don't see why it wouldn't be great for an adult with picky tastes too.
