Where can i find it?!
Answers: I need to find some frozen or not frozen tofu. Which stores in Ohio have it? Does Wal-mart have it?
Many grocery stores carry tofu. Is there a Whole Foods or natural foods store near you (check out www.vegweb.com to find restaurants and natural foods stores anywhere in the world). The natural foods stores I go to keep them in the refrigerator compartment, but other stores may have them in the produce section.
When you get your tofu home, cut open the packages and drain out all the water. Wrap them in plastic and stick them in the freezer. You can actually store tofu in the freezer and take it to defrost a day or two before you want to cook it.
Kroger! Check out the natural foods cooler (usually near the produce section).
Check the natural foods section at Kroger. Whole Foods has it too. I'm pretty sure that Wal-mart carries it as well.
Be careful! Freezer burn can alter the tofu and increase the possibility of carcinogens.
Tofu is rarely in the freezer section of a regular grocery store. Look in the produce section near the asian-meal foods, like egg roll wrappers, baby corn, and bamboo shoots. Usually it's in refrigerated water packs there, or in the natural foods aisle in aseptic packs.
"Be careful! Freezer burn can alter the tofu and increase the possibility of carcinogens."
WTF! Stupid troll.
Freezing it changes the texture and makes it spongy. After freezing it and thawing it out, it becomes very easy to squeeze out the water without it crumbling.
