Answers: I've been vegan for almost two years, and people have said different things about straight edge vegans what exactly is the difference?

well, looks like you already know what veganism means.

straight edge means that a person does not do drugs (that obviously includes medication), take caffeine, smoke, drink alcohol or have premarital sex. it basically means staying clean.

a lot of people label themselves as edge but they still have premarital sex hah obviously they're not straight edge... just like the "vegetarians" who still eat fish.

In addition to veganism, no drugs, no smoking, no alcohol, no caffeine, etc.

in addition to the first answer, no sex...

"don't drink, don't smoke, don't f**k"

Edit:
I think it is interesting that I got so many thumbs down on this answer. I was quoting the lyrics to a Minor Threat song "Out of Step", and as another answerer stated, Minor Threat coined the phrase and started the movement.

geeeeezzzz.........

Vegans do not eat any animal product or by product. True straight edgers abstain from violence, drug and alcohol use, premarital sex, cigs and caffeine.

Straight edge refers to a lifestyle and scene that started within the hardcore punk subculture whose adherents abstain from alcohol, tobacco smoking, and other recreational drug use. There is considerable debate over what constitutes a straight edge lifestyle, and some adherents may also abstain from caffeine, psychiatric medication and promiscuity, or follow a vegetarian or vegan diet. The term was coined by the 1980s hardcore band Minor Threat.

your a vegan and you don't smoke drink do drugs
