What are the benefits of a juice diet? Detoxing?!

Question: I'm hung over, and ate crappy, crappy food last night. I need to detox from my unhealthful-ness.

Are there any real benefits of a juice fast? Is it healthier to just eat fruit for a few days?

I juice feast(fast) if I have been eatting poorly or have eatten something that has made me ill. It's a great way to Detox..Use Fresh made Veggie Juices & eat fruit. Except for apple added to veggie juice I rarely juice fruit. It causes bllood sugar imbalances. I also do EMER-C 2 to 4 times a day to assit pushing out the bad stuff. This is called Vitamin C Flush.
For evening meal I usually do a BIG Raw Veggie Salad & a light cooked veggie (brown rice, baked sweet or red potatoes, steamed greens) this meal will keep you from detoxing too fast & keep you blood sugar levels moderate.

Serious 100% Juice Feasting is nothing to do lightly. If that is your route, do it right.

Slainté(to your health)

I personally have mixed opinions on juice fasts, they always leave me extremely ravenous and I can't stick to them long enough to get any results. I think you can give it a try if you have the willpower and a good juicer (I've burned out a blender or two and had grown tired of peeling and coring fruits so it's good to have one). A benefit of eating the fruit whole would be that there is a lot of fiber that does not always come through into the juice... I have detoxed using a raw food approach instead, and that worked really well for me, made me feel a lot better after St. Patrick's Day... I don't do the detox stuff too often because I don't really need to lose weight, I'm thin enough and when I do detox diets I lose 5, 10 pounds and look worse in my opinion.

oh, fresh fruit will be always good

I did a juice fast for 27 days. I was working and going to school, getting about 2 to 5 hours of sleep a night. I had more energy on the juice fast than when I am eating.

If you consume the correct juices such as including your greens and vegetables instead of only having fruit juices then you will see the benefits. I suggest you have a short juice feast for three days. When you come off of it. Drink a light vegetable soup and drink some of the juices as well. I forgot and eat raw fruits and veggies. Then on the second day you will be able to eat foods that you usually eat.

The fruit juice detox is suppose to give you the vitamins and minerals needed, as well as giving your digestive system a little break from having to break down so much food. On the three day juice you may not notice a big difference.

Cleans the system out but you will experience headaches and weakness as the toxins leave the body.

Drink lots of water and eat lots of fruit and veg.

There are no benefits to liquid diets/detoxing other than a small, TEMPORARY weight loss. They are snake oil. nothing more.

Start eating better TODAY. Drink lots of water, eat leafy greens, fresh fruit, unrefined carbs (brown rice, whole wheat, etc. ) and lean protein. It may take longer, but the benefits will be lasting, and you'll have made some life long good habits.
