What do they do with the rest of the cow after making hamburger from it?!

Question: The bones and especially the skull are not edible. Do they grind them up and sell it as food or something?

Bones are too edible. A lot of it is indeed ground up and used in pet food though.

Its all in the burgers!!!

Gelatin is made from cow bones, hoofs, I think, but most leftovers will be used for cheap meat or usually pet food.

The remaining parts go to an animal rendering plant and become ingredients in everyday products.

Of course making hamburger is the 2nd part of the process after removing the choice cuts of meat.

They take what they want in the cow, like steaks, what they cant sell, they grind in hamburgers. The bones go to make gelatin for your jello, skin for leather, fat for beef tallow, eyes for catarats, tail for oxtail soup, offal for asian recipes and beef stomach for rennet for cheese. cow excrements for flower pots.

What do you mean "rest"? There is no "rest", especially for commercial hamburgers.

well, there are steaks and ribs... Oh, you mean byproducts like sweetmeats and hot dogs:? Or animal feed, pharmaceuticals, and fertilizer?

You can use the bones to make soup stock from. Bones are sold for the dogs. There is something called "Blood & Bone" which is fertilizer for the gardens. It's ground up remains. The zoos would receive what they need for their carnivores. Nothing gets wasted. It's all part of the circle of life.

They make refined sugar with animal bones, so I do assume that they use them. Meat cows can't be used for leather though since they are covered in boils and that like. They feed alot of the extras back to the cows. I'm sure alot of it gets wasted though.

Some bones, fat and other "inedible" parts are still sold as food. Beef ribs for example, shanks (almost all bone) for the attached meat and marrow (osso buco), oxtail too.

hide for leather
bones (those that are discard) for animal based gelatins, fish/pet food
offal - fish/petfood or "potted meats"
Every part of the animal is used ethier as a food (people and animal) or processed for use with other products.

I am a former chef and all of the other people have got a point, I am now a Lacto-ovo-pescetarian vegetarian, due to my medical condition.

True the remainder of the parts are made into roasts, steaks, interal organs like liver, kidney and heart are sold to, the one person who remarked osso bucco, that is veal, one cows ths shank meat is generally reserved for stew meat, oxtail were one of my former favs.

Bones and other parts are sold to processing plants for soups and pet foods, fertilzer, beef bones make lousy gelatin not enough collegen, and alot amazingly is just disposed of in landfills.

they take the fat and make lipstick, lotion and other beauty products.

bones can be used to make gelatin or commercial soup stocks, and also Bone Meal, which is used for plant food is made up from bones.

I know they donate eyes to science experiments which sucked cuz I had to dissect it last year! Some go to pet food, some is probably wasted.

A$H!
