I'm getting back on track with my vegetarian lifestyle are there any meeting, groups or classes in Houston?!

Question: I'm an African American female that is trying to improve her self and become healthier. I don't drink or smoke and i have been a vegetarian for 2 years now. I'm looking for support groups or (w) holistic classes in Houston that i can go to. I don't know many people, I have been to the S.H.A.P.E. center and the Shrine of the Black Madonna, picked up a few books from leading (w) holistic and natural eater and healers. Now I'm wanting to gather information from other vegetarians and vegans. Are there other places here in Houston that I can go for resources or classes or maybe even some websites.

I'm thinking that a meditative and reflective discipline to focus you on deeping insights into your own experiences and own Self thus far would prove more fruitful than "filling" your head with more "stuff". "Facts" and information are like "meat" ... you can eat too much of it.

I do not know of any. What you can try is meetup.com and join some groups with other vegetarians. Maybe they will have a group related to what you are looking for or maybe they can point you in the right direction.

Yes, do check out meetup.com (or start your own group with something like zanby.com). Even if there isn't a group yet, you can be put on a list to be notified if one ever gets started.

Also, there are a couple of houston groups.
