Cheddar cheese or processed cheese for a grill cheese?!

Question: which is better

Answers: which is better

Cheddar tastes much better; processed cheese melts better. Add a tomato slice and a little dijon before grilling - yum.

Personally? I like processed cheese. On ANYTHING else, I like real cheese, but it melts so smoothly for grilled cheese! :D

Well as former chef and now a vegetarian, I can say there is more chese in the chedar than processed, they only use a fraction of the cheese in it, it is more milk, emulsifiers, butter oil or veg oil and is cooked and modelled in to bricks then sliced and packages, in the trade they are just in bricks sliced we had to cut them into portions.

I like cheddar and a nother cheese like brick or a spicy cheese like jalapeno jack of even provolone, I like mine cheesey, and I use veg margarine on the bread, and like mine like Homer Simpson sqwished and crispy, I not longer dip mine in ketchup, that was a childhood thing.

I actually use both. But, not a whole slice of the process... I cut the process slices in strips and lay them on the bread with a bit of space between. Then, I cut cheddar or colby in slices and put that on. Yum!!!

Neither?

I prefer a soft white cheese, like Havarti for my sandwiches, or even a baby swiss or a Lorraine. I add l tiny bit of brown mustard, mayo, or Marmite to strengthen the flavor.
