Answers: what do answers like this say about meat eaters?

i agree completely. I know meat eaters aren't like that at all, and i think that girl only asked that to see the reaction.

i think that first answer above ^^^ is quite judjmental and stupid. NOBODY SAID thats what anyone thinks of you. gosh.

Honestly, if I see a question that looks like it's something that I don't even care to read or answer ("how do you kill a turkey?" " Do vegans eat animal crackers?" " why is meat so tasty?") I just DON'T click on it. If I see an answer to a question that is abusive, plain ignorant or kind of like the ones you linked, I just give it a thumb's down so it is minimized and I don't have to look at it.

Why get involved? Who cares? Nobody's going to change my mind either way, I'd be spineless (and even downright foolish) if I started eating meat based on some of the questions/answers I see on here.

I think this has all become some bizarre one-up competition. Omnivoures are trying to gross us out now with statements about how meaty and delicious and bloody things are, how to kill animals, and other rousing topics; the V&V side is turning around and spitting out similiar gross-out tactics about how awful meat is, the terrible things that happen to animals, etc.

Honestly just be selective, why can't V&V'ers just ignore the OBVIOUSLY unfriendly questions and answers? I think that would be classified as "turning the other cheek", being a "bigger person", etc.

Some of the answers are practical and serious to what was obviously a troll's question.

Some are utterly moronic. A lot, actually. Just like the real world - some intelligent people, and a heck of a lot of idiots.

We all know that one person represents the entire group only when it comes to the minority. It doesn't apply to the majority.

What you don't realize is that very often these are people coming from other groups on an organized mission to mess with people. It's called "Roaming". They decide to go to another group and then make fun of the regulars in those groups. They are social misfits looking desperately for acceptance.

Just ignore them. It's a sign of strength and security if you can ignore them.

It was quite obvious that this person was trying to get a response from all the veggie people. I think it would of been better if none of the veggie people responded since thats what she was wanting all along.

According to the logic of a generalizing bigot, it shows that ALL meat-eaters are ignorant, immature and sadistic.

Hey, don't ask me why. I've never met anyone as stupid as those answers.

Well, it's not the opinionated part of vegetarians that give them a bad name. It's the militant ones that say things like "why don't you just shoot yourself instead and leave the animals alone" that get the rest of us annoyed.

Yes, some of those answers are nasty. A few are simply uncaring, some are just being stupid. But there's a perfect example of what I was talking about in there too. One person said "Well first feed him a lot, shoot yourself in the head, then go shrivel up and die in a corner. Then the turkey will be happy without a ***** like you around". And that is the kind of thing that gives vegetarians a bad name. Not in this particular case, but when you get that kind of sentiment from someone otherwise it puts you on edge. Too many times people forget that their personal choices do not reflect universal moral truths.

omnivorous people don't want to be preached by vegetarians, but it seems they love to hang out in vegetarian/vegan section...sad people...

"Well, it's not the opinionated part of vegetarians that give them a bad name. It's the militant ones that say things like "why don't you just shoot yourself instead and leave the animals alone" that get the rest of us annoyed."

I have been vegetarian for 23 years, and I never knew anyone who said anything like that. I don't think I want to hang around with them either.

It is not merely a physical slain, but exposes the psychopath of a person.

All of us are regarded "human" as higher being, dominion, etc. But in fact if there is no law (legal or religious) abiding us, or let say no police, everyone is allowed to carry fire-arms, and everyone is capable to slaughter...just imagine...we would be act worse than the animals, or we will be slained (by those strongest) worst than the animal.

Dear pals, think for a moment. We are mutually violent enough eventhough we are guided.

It says they are childish to respond to a question like that. They WANT to be obnoxious to veggers and provoke a reaction. And apparently it does work.

It is a different issue re: "opinionated" vegetarians. They are just as much a pain as the character who posted that question. But the differeence I see is that opinionated strict vegetarians are SERIOUS about their attitude toward ominivores and anyone who doesn't buy into their very culture-bound and narrow definition of "vegetarian"..

i dont know what that says about meat eaters, since i am an OMNIVORE...i do not just eat meat all day every day...is that what vegetarians think? that we eat meat and no veggies or fruits at all? since i eat meat, am i not allowed to eat vegetables too?

I don't understand. The asker was wondering how to nicely kill her turkey. Isn't that okay with vegetarians? Turkey's aren't very productive creatures.

practical and realistic, funny / humorous...

seems like you have an idea of what answers here you hope to see... and enjoy the thumbs downs that omnivores get despite posting honest, well thought out though contrary to your own answers..
so what does that say about vegetarians in general?...

it says we care about our body enough to give it meat...i like my protein

The question you cite is a practical question. If you have a living turkey that you're preparing for Thanksgiving, then naturally you're going to have to kill it. Vegetarianism, although economically efficient and healthy, is not always practiced for those reasons. What I personally can't stand are those over-empathic idiots that think animals have the same rights to be alive as people and refuse to eat them because they're so "innocent and cuddly." As if not eating them will somehow stop them from being systematically enslaved and killed so we can eat them and turn them into fashionable pants. There's nothing wrong with being a vegetarian, as long as you don't flaunt it to everybody who will (or won't) listen.

And as a little addendum, I grew up on a farm, and the best way to kill a turkey is to hold it over a bucket and slit its throat. The turkey dies quickly, you don't damage the carcass, and you can make blood pudding from it. Delicious.
