Egg free pasta, waffle, and other good stuff?!
Answers: This is not a real vegan question but I though people around here would be able to help me. I have a 1 year old that is allergic to eggs, and possibly milk (we just started introducing in his diet and he doesn't seem to be doing well with it). Anyway, I have had problems with all the pasta I found since even though they do not contain eggs most have been processed in facilities that handles eggs and he ends up getting a skin reaction. Does anyone here know of brands and where I can buy egg free pasta, waffle and other good stuff that might add some normality and variety in my son's diet. Yes he does not Need all this stuff, but it is hard to grow up seeing his brothers eat all that and he not being able to, specially since he is too small to understand. Thanks so much for the help!
I've used Namaste packaged pastas and I do believe they are designed to be absolutely egg-free (as well as wheat-free, dairy-free, etc).
Cherrybrook Kitchen makes a waffle mix, but I haven't tried it. They make everything-free cake and cookie mixes, too.
Bob's Red Mill also makes a lot of allergy-sensitive mixes.
Have you tried NANA's NOs cookies? Those are yummy. I've found those in Henry's Famre's market (AKA Wild Oats).
You can find all those brands at any good health food store or on Amazon. If you have a Henry's I'd definitely spend a few hours walking the aisles and familiarizing yourself with what they offer. There's a lot of allergen-free foods available.
Just a tip - Amazon has a lot of vegan friendly stuff you can buy in bulk at significant savings. If you buy their Prime membership for something like seventy bucks you get free two day shipping for the year. I use it all the time (did most of my Xmas shopping on it) and have saved well over $70 on shipping so far (probably saved several hundred bucks, actually). Here's what comes up in an Amazon search for egg-free:

Try looking for gluten-free stuff, too, because often if it's missing that there's a good chance it'll be egg-free, too.
Good luck!
P.S. Just get your son off the milk now. It's awful for his health whether he's allergic or not. It's probably the single most unhealthy food people consume on a regular basis.
First off, have your son tested to confirm the allergy (I see alot of false "allergies" at the hospital where I work. If he is truely allergic a health or natural foods store will usually have an egg-free section (it's usually combined with gluten free as we see these two together alot).
Van's Organic Blueberry Waffles are delicious and vegan.
I would first off visit your local health food store or find one online. They usually offer great vegan/vegatarian foods such as eggless pastas and such and always have all kinds of great goodies for you and for kids.
Here is a site I found with Allergen-Free kid's snacks:

You could always try to make your own waffles:

That way you'll see where all the ingredients you use come from.
You can try Ezekiel 4:9 bread, you can get it in the freezer section of grocery stores like Jewel-Osco or Whole Foods, and you can buy it fresh at Trader Joe's. It's sprouted grain bread and I do not believe they process any egg ingredients in their facilities, just grains.
Ener-g egg replacer is an amazing substance that can be used directly in place of eggs in any baked recipe. It works very well in cookies, pancakes, and waffles. Its available in the baking section of whole foods. A few other egg-free products you might be interested in. Whole Foods carries Nayonaise, an egg free mayo substitute that is great. Mori-nau firm tofu fries up very well in a pan with sausage (I'm vegan, so I use vegan sausage, but you could just as easily use meat), potatoes and green peppers like a Fritata. I believe you can also find pasta made in a factory without eggs at whole foods, they are pretty good about having those kinds of things. I would try 365 organic brand, they usually carry things like that.
Van's has good waffles, lots of different kinds, too. Quite often regular grocery stores carry them, as well.
Most conventional pasta does not have eggs in it.
Also there is nothing a kid "needs" specifically from a cow's breastmilk. They aren't calves.
