Why do some meat eaters feel the need?!
Oh my aching sides, how witty to suggest a lamb chop of greasy fry up when the question is obviously aimed at vegetarians.
Doh, at least try to be original or better still keep to the food and drink sections, why waste your time on a sectio that obviously doesnt interest you?
I doubt veggies would bother to answer a meat question.
Ok so you eat meat........ we eat veggies, viva la difference!! live and let live I say!
Answers: to come onto the veggie section and then make funny remarks

I'm a meat eater and love a fry up. however my cooking repertoire includes veggie meals . If you had christmas dinner here you'd be as well fed and welcome as anybody else.
Each to their own.
thats the same way I feel as a muslim when someone talks about pork chops or something.. or greeting is Salaam alaykum (meaning peace upon you).. but these jokers type out "Salami lickum"... its so rude... ..
if we choose not to eat a type of meat.. so be it.. eat yours, we wont...
You are WRONG - many 'veggies' as you put it answer questions posted and try to ram their beliefs down out throats.
I agree - live and let live - your choice and mine to eat what we want - but, sorry to say, some of your 'kin-folk' don't agree and continue to push their beliefs onto people that don't want to become veggies.
All well and good but, as in one post I wrote back to a question about 'veggies' and they could not and would not accept my point. The point made was that, it is fine to be a veggie but consider the damage they to are doing - veggies are sprayed with pesticides that kill GOOD bugs as well as bad - so, in theory they are just as bad for killing to survive.
It's not just meat eaters who do this. I've seen plenty of responses to omnivore-orientated questions which come from vegetarians trying to wind people up.
Things like how they'd never eat a little lamb or a fluffy bunny. And how all veal is cruel ( it isn't ).
Vive la difference indeed, but it applies to us all.
Because people find it very easy to be rude and disrespectful on the internet. They take the anonymity for granted.
It's one of those things that work both ways - vegetarians regularly post offensive and abusive reply's on meat eaters questions as well. I feel that everyone is entitled to their own way of life whether veggi/omnivore/meat eater/vegan/pescitarian etc etc etc without being insulted because their beliefs don't match those of others.
not been into the veggie section coz i,m a meat eater, but now you mention it i think i,ll have a look & see if anyone deserves to be ripped---thanks for highlighting this to me
You say "live and let live" but yet you attack meat eaters. We meat eaters do appreciate our vegetables as much as we do our broiled lamb chops, which are not greasy fried. No self respecting meat eater would ever fry a lamb chop... pork chops Yes! lamb chops No! Why some of us even broil our vegetables.
And we meat eaters have a sense of humor... something that seems to be lacking in most vegans I've come in contact with, present company included. I think it must have something to do with the protiens and amino acids we receive from our wretched, horrid diet.
So you just keep on wolfing down all that rabbit food and I'll wolf down the rabbit, since he won't be getting it.
Anonymity is the correct answer. If we were responsible for our actions, then many would not put out answers and questions as freely as they do now.
I sometimes see some remark that is original and funny and give them credit where it is do (creativity is rare nowadays). But if I see a "Do vegans eat animal cracker joke" I yawn.
Now the up in your face about vegans and ramming their beliefs down your throat is untrue. You have to open your mouth before anything can be rammed down it! The fact of the matter is, meat from an animal origin (there is other origins that are plant based) is the outcome of killing an animal against its own will, which in human terms means murder if I am correct. Now most of this meat is produced by people who are paid to do it (which by the way has a very high turnover rate, and now many illegal immigrants are now doing the work), and vegans/vegetarians just "believe" that this is wrong. And if you think murder is wrong (be it animals or humans) then you have a hard time of just sitting still and saying "let live" which is an oxymoron in this case. In fact, some of us vegans/vegetarians have to witness the onslaught of murder by watching people eat their huge pieces of meat during meals and just be quiet so as not to make the eaters uneasy with our beliefs. It is very hard to do.
How unsettling it is that people who are compassionate and respect life in all forms are ostracized by society. Wouldn't it be a dream if it was the other way around. That society was vegan (do away with animal slavery too) and many of today's glutton diseases would go away. Killing anything would go away and not be allowed, so war would be obsolete. Animals would live in harmony, and pollution from factory farming and factory dairy would go away. And all the food that we put into factory animals would be distributed to families who need it more (one cow eats 10 times the grain one single family could use to live on, while only 1 cow can feed a family). Many benefits to a vegan society. Dream on, yeah, I know the sarcasm.
I think it's a playground mentality. You know, "pick on the weird kid."
Also, you can usually get away with making fun of vegetarians because we are not a "legally protected group" due to race, religion, gender, sexual preference, or disability.
Lots of good answers... and I find the rude attacks on vegetarians & vegans very childish...
I was raised a lacto-ovo vegetarian... it is my opinion that vegetarians will get the "last laugh" because the cost of meat production will increase to the extent that a vegetarian diet will be the only option left.
its not just meat eaters my friend...many people on MANY forums (not just V&V) come on to sections that obviously don't interest them and give stupid answers to questions they shouldn't be answering...so pull your head out of your *** and deal with it
yes I agree with you.
I eat meat and love it.
Others choose to be veggie.
We can all get along at the same table.
I have friends of both veggie and meaty, what the hell, its everybody's choice.
Dear pals,
Large allocation (billions) are allocated for meat-borne illnesses, live-stock disease recovery, tons of sympathic compensation to mad-cow growers, 65% of US water subsidized to animal raising, globalization & leverage of agri-products, cheap graze-land for lease, USD12 billion for research/control of bird flue, over-loading of health insurance premium, unfair contamination to others....Who's tax money is that?
I hope everyone will be open-minded & think for a moment.
If someone feel their care for others is irrational, then at least (at last) they have the "right" to question...how their tax money is being apportioned...politically, and freakonomically.
I'm not against vegers or meaters, but I feel we need a mutual understanding here. Non-vegetarians in V&V here will give valuable feedback if the question posted appropriately.
I have no idea what they are talking about, saying that vegans and vegetarians go into other food and drink forums to attack them. The only people that I have seen doing that are the "Ashley" army, which is YET again some meat-eater's joke, but it's gone on for so long it's just plain stupid. What really gets me is that Ashleys still get so many responses to their posts. So therefore it might even be meat-eating people responding to joke posts by meat-eating people in their own forums, and then all of them at once come to V&V and pour their backlash against the community. I believe that's the goal of the Ashleys to begin with.
because they have NO LIFE!!!!!!!!
hahaha.
i totally agree.
some people just need to choke on their spit.
Ahh... already enough answers, but I have to say I agree...
How about when you're eating with meat eaters and they try to convince you that eating meat isn't that bad, etc, etc... I'm wondering why they feel the need to do this if I'm not trying to convince them to be a vegetarian... just let people be themselves so long as it isn't hurting anyone!
Probably for the same reasons plenty of you veggies harp on at us about eating meat. In my experience vegetarians are a lot less tolerant than meat eaters. When a vegetarian comes to my house for dinner I cook a vegetarian meal. Very few vegetarians would return the favour & cook meat for me. I also don't try to convert my guests but you buggers do. You're a lot less tolerant than we are.
if it bothers you so much report it.
I believe lots of meat eaters who make fun are jealous of us vegetarians.
Plain and simple...
P.S. I'm a vegetarian who doesn't force my eating habits on anyone! I do this for myself...
HEY!
It's only SOME meat eaters doing that!
DON'T BLAME ME!
It doesn't matter what you eat your poop is going to stink.
Thanks Doug, I totally agree with you but when some little girl says she has been protesting outside MacDonalds then it bugs the hell out of me. Why should your cohorts dictate what and what I should not consume for my pleasure? Yes, I really enjoy eating meat (with my vegetables).
Well at least are poop don't stink. They have dead flesh rotting in their colons. Gross!!
