Is it ok 4 people with lung disease to be vegan?!

Question: Yes! A vegan diet rich in colorful fruits and vegetables (antioxidants = disease fighting) and whole grains (proteins and minerals for repair and building of tissues) is ideal, so long as these foods are the focus of the diet. Dairy foods are mucus building in the body. I believe this is the body protecting itself from a substance it doesnt want. Lung disease tends to be related to heart disease, so a vegan diet is also protective against CVD since it is devoid of saturated fat and dietary cholesterol. Closely moniter sodium intake to prevent any pulmonary edema (water on the lungs) from developing. Make sure that all fats eaten are healthy fats like nuts and flax to promote the health of lung tissue. There is also some wonderful research that supports that the Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) 150-300 mg standardized extract and Olive leaf (Olea europaea) 200-500 mg standardized extract and is helpful in treating lung disease. I would be happy to answer any more questions through email. Happy Holidays and Good Health to you.

A doctor or a nutrition expert would be the best person to answer this question.

You really ought to talk to your physician about this one. They'll let you know what you should be eating and what food you should concentrate on; also, if you need to take medication for your ailments keep taking it even if it might not be a vegan medicine - your health should come first. If your doctor gives you an O.K. and gives you some pointers, come back here and you'll get lots of (mostly) friendly feedback and some great recipes as well.

I'd say it so, you could have lots of soy stuff, I'm only vegetarian plus I'm only 13 so don't take my advice but I'm almost sure it'd be fine, just have to be careful.

yes ,but very soon they will count as 3 because one of them who is with weaker lungs will be no more there, then ,two then one ,only he can survive little longer because he can recover alone in good atmosphere.thanks.

Why wouldn't it? Especially if they ate a healthy diet, it'd only do good things for them.

I don't know why not. It's a very healthy lifestyle. Obviously, ask your doctor, but as long as you're eating a true vegan diet, and not a junk food and pasta diet, you should be just fine.

No

Frankly I think it would be best for them.
