Have you tried vegetarian soya jerky?!

Question: how did it taste? did you like it?

There are several brands of vegetarian jerky. Primal Strips even makes a few seitan flavors, but they're too mushy and mealy. Stonewall's Jerquee has good flavor, but I feel I'm eating styrofoam. Tasty Bite is okay, but I really hate the tiny little chunks and the double wrapping (what a waste). I HATED Tofurky Jurky.

I'm still looking for the perfect veggie jerky, and when I find it, I'll let you know.

Nob, share with us some!

I've had a fair bit and some of it's rather good and some of it's a bit scary. None of it is exactly 'healthy eating'. But, it can be good for a snack now and then.

IMO that kind of stuff is "junk food" for us veggers. It is packed with preservatives, salt, etc. .... I think it's unhealthy even as a snack.

I am a former chef and vegetarian, and like the Asian kinds, both the Chinese and the Korean people make good one's.

I like the spicy ones, the Kung Po type, BBQ flavoured and it is nice used in dishes like braises and soups, I like to dry it more and then pulverize it into a powder and use it as a veggie seasoning.

If you have a section in town, checkout there types, I have had Tofu Jerky and seiten types.
