There's more people warning about soy than Weston A. Price and Dr. Mercola. But, research on food is almost certainly biased because, in the end, it's funded by an industry trying to sell products. Here's some stuff I have:

Again, it's foolish to put blind faith in ANY research regarding food but check these out and draw your own conclusions. Also, beware of answerers that post claims about the American Heart Association claiming it's good for your heart. Yes, that may well be. But, what about the rest of your body. The AHA has nothing to do with the rest of your body.
This is simply propaganda.
The only real problems someone might have with soy milk is allergies to soy or problems with estrogen. Woman who have problems with estrogen shouldn't drink soy milk and men shouldn't drink it excessively.
i actually did some research on this, as i had switched to soy milk a while back. i heard that it actually helped women with some hormonal problems. then, after about 2 months of drinking it, i started to bloat. i felt fat all the time and grumpy. my mom developed a strange crick in her neck, so we all decided to stop drinking it for a while to see if that's what was causing our problems. i was curious, so i decided to see what i could find and i found arguments in favor of soymilk and those opposing it. both were strong. basically, if you are going to drink it, you must dring the organic. apparently some brands contain GM soy, which is not good for you. i read a lot about women who had experienced the same thing as me, and i read about it being linked to breast cancer in women, due to the hormonal effects. that is when i decided i was glad i stopped drinking it.
cow's milk contains hormones, soy milk screws with your hormones.... so what do you choose? well, i am not a vegan/vegetarian. i have opted for the powdered milk. since it is dehydrated, it seems cleaner and fresher. i will never go back to soymilk because i do not want to risk my health as a woman. i would choose powdered milk or organic milk.
Phytoestrogens are not the same as estrogen. They actually regulate the amount of estrogen in your body. The claims that soy causes cancer were originated from the American Dairy Association back in the mid to late 80's. These were proven to be false however like many rumors and especially one so large people will continue to believe in it and put out anit-soy material. The American Cancer society states, "The effects of phytoestrogens on a woman's body are not fully understood, but it is believed they compete with estrogen to fit into estrogen receptor sites in different parts of the body, including breast tissue. Because estrogen stimulates cell reproduction, it may be that the more exposure a women has to estrogen, the greater her breast cancer risk. In premenopausal women, phytoestrogens may have an estrogen-reducing effect because they attach to estrogen receptor sites, thus tricking the body into producing less estrogen. " In reality small amounts of soy can help reduce chance of cancer and cancer growth.
Much of the recent research by reputable universities have discovered that soy can be quite dangerous to our health. For one thing, in cultures where soy is eaten ... it is eaten as a condiment NOT as a mainstay in westerrn veggie circles.
There is too much reputable literature out there to put here .. but Google soy and some other search terms and you will come up with thousands of hit.
Soy is one of the biggest money making commodities on the market ... we are talking billions of dollars on the global commodity market. So if anything is propaganda it is the soy lobby that wants to cover up the health hazards of soy ...
It's BIG business and all about MONEY ... not our health. Be careful.
