I don't think anyone should ever diet... I think we should all just live healthier lifestyles. Stop eating fast food and junk food and start eating a lot more fruits and veggies. Since you're not trying to lose weight... just work out or do some sort of physical activity for about 30-45 mins for 3 to 4 days out of the week... and it can be broken up into 10 minute sessions or 15 minute sessions. I like the elliptical machine... if it's nice outside, I'll go running around this lake that has a diameter of 1.3 miles and I'll do that twice. Sometimes I play tennis or racquetball (which is hella fun). Any cardio will be good for the health of your heart. If you eat well everyday there will be no need for vitamins.. a balanced meal is key.

To stay on this "life change" I treat myself to cold stone every once in a while. I eat sweets in moderation. I never eat an entire piece of cake... most of the time I just want to taste the sweetness and I can get that off of one bite. Never deprive yourself from something that you want...b/c when you finally get it, you'll go overboard. Hope this helps! :@)

there are many great websites for this. But i suggest first writing down everything you eat and the nutritional value and then really thinking about it and discuss it with your doctor.

Excercising - you want to get in at least 45 min at least 6 days a week if you're trying to lose weight. Start out with 15 min of stretching, weight lifting (dumbells works fine) and floor excercises like crunches and leg lifts. Pilates excercises are a great warm up. Then 30 minutes of cardio like running or dancing and follow up with a 5-10 minute cool down with light stretching and breathing excercises.

Food - eat foods that will keep you feeling full and provide you with the most nourishment. Empty calories like sugar and junk food are out. Try to stay away from white grains too and go with whole grain. You can get most any bread and pasta and even macaroni dinners in whole grain so it shouldn't be a problem. Switch to fat free or lowfat versions of dairy products/soy dairy products. And throw out that "3 glasses of milk a day" thing - you don't need to drink straight milk and it gives you as many unneeded calories as soda even if you drink fat free. Yogurt and cottage cheese are ok as part of a meal or a snack.

Any fruit or vegetable is going to be good for you - eat many of these because the fiber will keep you full for very few calories.

Stay away from sugar and salt of course, and stay away mostly from soda, kool aid and other such drinks. Drink only water and sugarless tea. Tea is really good for you and will help keep away the hunger pains. Try drinking a cup whenever you have a craving.

If you're on a diet you should probably take a multivitamin every day and make sure it includes iron.

Some good foods to have on hand that will help you fight through cravings and hunger are sunflower seeds in the shell, because they take so long to eat it will keep your mouth busy, low calorie popsicles like Edy's Fruit Bars made with Splenda, tea of course, plain air-popped popcorn. And drink as much water as you can handle. Whenever you feel like eating, drink a glass of water or tea and wait 20 minutes then if you are still hungry eat something. It also helps to have some inspiration to think about when you consider cheating - like a nice outfit in the size you want to be.

To lose fat?

Exercise is the answer. Forget dieting, as in a reduced-calorie-diet in order to lose fat... that's just stupid.

Eat more, exercise more, and you will be thin. Throw away the scale, because muscle weighs more than fat. Judge yourself by how you feel, how well you sleep, how well your food digests, etc.

Exercise a lot and your body will start to tell you things, such as... "man, eating that really is not good..." Pay attention and eat quality fresh organic whole foods. Stay away from highly processed foods, deep-fried, and all those things you know are bad for you.

If you look up the word "diet" you will find that it just means "what you eat regularly". So, you will be on a "diet" for the rest of your life. It's what you eat. There is no cheating or not.

My weight only changes when I exercise or eat. I gain more muscle and I weigh more. Exercise less, I weight less. I eat food, I weigh more. I poo, I weigh less. Excess fat doesn't exist on me. Females naturally have more fat -- it is needed, but of course, it's an even layer... different than excess fat (during pregnancy and breastfeeding, there will be more).
