What is the difference between flexitarian and omnivore?!

Question: I like my special label, that's all. So tell me what is the exact percentage of my diet that meat has to make up to cross the border from the regular omnivore to the special elite flexitarian? I really need to know.

I don't know what the difference is, but apparently it's a sore point with at least some folks who call themselves "flexitarians." Whenever I ask that they either ignore it or make nasty comments instead of answering.

13.4% meat. You there yet?

They're the same thing to me. You're still an omnivore.

I don't know. I'm still curious as to the number of times I can get hammered per month and still call myself a flexiteetotaller. I'm pretty sure it's about 1 or 2, but maybe the smart flexitarians on this board would know.

One is desperate for a special label and the other accepts itself for what it is.

STFU. I'll cut yo' @ss up RL gud.

they're the same thing.

omnivore is a real word, people can be omnivores..
flexitarian is not a word, it's meaningless.

if anything, they are synonyms.
:) xoxoxox?

Until you don't eat ANY, you're just an omnivore who doesn't like meat. If you actually cared about the animals, you'd stop.

Flexitarians ARE omnivores.

Little, if any.

By being a flexitarain you can pretty much continue the fantasy by saying you are in the NFL cause you watch it on TV, are a dentist because you have teeth, a hygienist cause you wipe your bung or an air traffic controller becuase you saw a plane fly by.

An omnivore is a person that eats both plants and animals and is exactly the same as a flexitarian without all of the delusions.

Does your butt hurt from Krister's foot??

there is no difference.

"Flexitarian" is simply a subset of "omnivore." There is no exact percentage of meat (or anything else) in the diet to determine whether one is flexitarian. It's a matter of intent. Whereas the average omnivore includes meat in whatever amount they choose out of habit, a flexitarian has stated an intention (even if only to themselves) of reducing meat consumption, eating vegetarian more often than not, but being flexible enough to eat meat when and if it is for some reason desireable. You can like your label all you want, whatever floats your boat.

basically "flexitarianism" is a made up term. flexiarians are those who still eat animals (such as seafood) but don't eat, oh let's say red meat. so actually there's no difference since they still eat animals. people that call themselves "flexiarians" are those are desperate to have a label of their own. not eating chicken but still eating fish still makes you an omnivore.

Edit: oh wow you're gonna block us all, how old are you?
you asked a question meanwhile you are not willing to accept the truth. find a hobby, will ya.

There's no difference really, they enjoy the best of both worlds in their diet. A Flexitarian is as the name suggests...flexible in their dietary needs. No rigid attitudes. Able to go with whatever's going. There is no exact percentage, it does not matter. I suppose it would be measured against how much meat you eat, what kind, red or white, once a week, month, year. If you eat more red than white one would be considered a "lesser" flexitarian. To me there is no "elite", how far do you want to split hairs?, I call myself a flexitarian because I am flexible in my ways about food, a little bit of this and a bit of that. I prefer white meat to red but do enjoy it, I just have less of it. I go all week sometimes without meat, so where does that put me on the Flexiscale. I know how to balance my diet and understand both sides. It works for me!

you still fit into the umbrella of omnivore and it is still correct. The word is useless and as far as i know only rarely used in the USA. It holds no meaning and normlay only encases the people who use to call themself vegetarian before it became more common knowledge that they are not due to fish or chicken so they came up with this to sound a little bit like vegetarian.

I dont beleve there is a set % so callled flexitarians use so i guess someone can eat 99% meat of there diet and say they are flexitarian due to not eating 100% meat.
I also dont acnolage the legitamacy of the word to be any diferent from an omnivore.
there are carnivors omnivores and herbivors.

omnivore...1% to 99% vegetable, it depends.
flexitarian...1% to 99% meat, manipulative.

Nothing they both fill there faces with the flesh of rotting corpses.
