Im thinking of becomeing a vegeie is it hard?????????????????????...!
To the question...
When you have the "right" reasons and a strong conviction on that, it is not a problem.
You will soon experience how the way you see things, change in a few months.
On omnivores plates I see a dead animal, not just "meat".
On omnivores glasses I see cows and calves suffering, not just "milk".
Like most humans don′t see other humans as "food", we vegetarians don′t see other animals and/or their secretions as "food". Simple as that.
It is not "hard" to most humans not to eat other humans. They don′t even think about it. Sooner than later, if you go veggie, you will feel the same about other animals.
It might need a lot of "work" at first, since we live in a non-vegetarian world. You will have to "learn" how to cook veg. You will have to search more to get vegetarian products. You will have to live everyday with people telling you how absurd to be a veg(etari)an is, an so on.
But your body will be at peace. Your mind will be at peace. Your spirit will be at peace. And you will be doing something to achieve non-human animals peace.
All the strenght for you in this great journey.
p.s.: Sorry for my english...but don′t blame me, blame the spanish colonizers jaja.
Answers: Hey! I′m glad you′re thinking about going veggie. And i′m sure cows, pigs, fish and chicken would be far more glad than me.

well.... at first it is for like the first month or two. but if you're really deicated keep on trying and then it becomes easier. but after getting through thoose first couple months its worth it. good luck
No, it isn't at all difficult.
I just noticed the strangest thing: Most of the intellectual answers (with more proper grammar, anyway) come from the vegetarians. That's weird.
In any case, no. It's hard to readjust and say 'wait. I don't eat that anymore' when you go to your usual restaurants and almost order your normal food, but actually -being- a veggie (eating vegetables, fruits, etc) isn't hard at all. =)
It's a matter of changing your lifestyle. It really depends on how well you adjust to such things. In the long run, it DOES make you feel better, though.
I am a server at a resturaunt and I recently decided to change my eating habits so I haven;t eaten any meat in 5 days. I will say, working at a resturaunt, seeing everyone else eat meat and the way it smelled makes it a little tempting, but not tempting enough considering I am now aware of what goes on and the importance of my choice. I see a steak on a plate and think about what it had to go through to get there and it grosses me out and makes me sad to the point where I don't care what it tastes like, I don't want to eat it. It might smell and taste good but if become a veg. because you feel strongly about animal welfare, aroma and smell falls short of making it hard for me to go back to meat (at least so far). This resturaunt also doesn't have any vegetarian dishes... only salads and one vegetable platter dish... so the decision on what to eat when you are out can be a little difficult but it is still do-able. I definately wouldn't say it's hard, but it is a commitment. If you are willing to make the commitment and stick to it, it's not hard at all (as long as your heart is involved).
They say nothing worth doing is easy. Yah, it can be hard- particularly at first when you'll have to deal with all of those emotional attachments and addictions you'll have for certain foods. That along with educating yourself about hidden animal ingredients, what you can and can't eat, and having to read EVERY label before you buy/eat something can all seem overwhelming in the beginning, but eventually (within the first few months it should start to get easier, and before the first year is up you'll wonder if you ever really ate meat!
**if I can make a suggestion? Don't immediately go for all of the faux meats out there because most of them taste pretty horrible, and it's bound to be discouraging in the beginning. Look for more delicious ways to incorporate protein and other essential nutrients into your diet. You can begin by simply leaving meat out of some of your favorite dishes- most recipes don't miss meat at all. Like lasagna, it's still fantastic without meat. You'll have to look at things like beans, chili, nuts, dairy & eggs (if you're still planning on eating them), etc. to get the protein in your diet. That's where some research will come in handy.
Depends on what you mean by hard.
For me, quitting something and never looking back is pretty easy.
For others, it's a problem.
For me it was just about fuelling my commonsense with lots of information. I say, just go to the library and read. Whenever you have a question, read. Simple.
Also, meeting other like-minded people helps too. Join some group such as EarthSave and head out to some potluck dinners and such and pretty soon you will see that there's a huge population of people out there that think and act like you do.
I knew someone at school who was a life-long vegetarian, and she had no problems. She chose to do that from a very young age (just didn't like the taste of meat) and that was it. So, when I decided to change my diet for athletics and found that a vegan diet was best, I really had little personal problems. Only other people had problems with it... my friends would ask me endless questions about it, my parents were not supportive, etc. etc. The biggest obstacle is others, not yourself.
It can be difficult at first, sort of like learning a new language. For me the hard part was remembering to look for gelatin and other hidden animal ingredients in processed foods (did you know some baked goods contain rendered beef fat?!). I can't tell you how many times I purchased something and got home only to read the label and see that it wasn't vegetarian and I would stand in the kitchen having the moral debate of Do I go ahead and eat this or not? I won't lie, a few times at first I did. But the more you educate yourself on animal rights and environmental concerns and health and the more you solidify your decision then the easier it becomes. I don't miss meat at all, in fact the idea is repulsive, but my transition to veganism is taking months because I just can't seem to shake my dairy 'addicition'.
Keep in mind that you don't have to be perfect about it. This is your decision and your journey and it may take time. This is a decision you definitely will not regret, either. Good luck.
Depends on what your reason is for doing it. If you're doing it for the "right" reasons, it's simple.
It depends on how much meat you're already eating. I've never liked any meat except Fried Chicken and Shrimp, but then I found out how unhealthy and unethical Fried Chicken is, and how overfishing hurts the Shrimp population. So I stopped. It's not particularly hard if you genuinely want it. Just make sure to eat a TON of fruit and Cheese.
Hopefully for your sake it is easier than spelling and punctuation...
no, whats so hard about it?
Google Flexitarian Diets and check out the websites. Flexitarian vegetarianism is healthy, easy and you won't be made fun of by your friends.
oh yeaaaa. but why? meat is delicious! =]
