How can a carb addict be a vegetarian? Won't I gain weight?!
But I began to eat more fruits and vegetables so even though I did gain some weight, I'm losing it now that I eat loads of fruits & vegs.
Answers: well I had the same problem. I'm both a carb addict and a vegetarian.

You may; I did. But I wasn't good about making sure that I got enough protein.
If you are careful about your portion sizes, make sure you get enough protein, and exercise regularly you should be okay. :)
If you are hungry from eating too much veggies, just eat some fruits and water.
Whole grains are the key. They fill you up faster and are much healthier.
complex carbs(whole grain pasta/bread/cereal,oatmeal,fruit, etc..) are nottt the enemy, but empty ones are(white flour breads, cookies, chips, carbs straight from sugar, etc). eat the good carbs and enjoyyy them :), but make sure you burn them by working out so that you dont gain weighttt, good luck xoxoxoxo?
I would say the key is to let go of all snack- type vegetarian foods like chips, crackers and sugary stuff. although this stuff is vegetarian, it makes me very hungry and i feel like crap. It is going to be pretty damn hard at the beginning- but I would look into the vegan lifestyle and hit up a whole foods market or organic section of the grocery store. I can assure you you will feel better- and it will kill your carb addiction.
Perhaps - but you could gain weight on any 'diet' or way of eating, if you aren't careful to make it varied.
If you're eating more calories than you burn, yeah.
fryed food bad. Green foods, fish, whole grain, fruits, good.
fryed food bad. i hope i help.
You'll be fine so long as you don't replace meat with more carbs.
If you branch out and exchange a hamburger for a tofu stir fry or a green salad, you'll be fine! It's tempting to replace meat with pasta, junk food, cheese, eggs, potatoes, or other starches, but try new foods!
I actually lost weight once I went vegetarian (and I LOVE pasta and carbs), about 10 pounds from simply switching to healthier food.
I HIGHLY recommend "A Teen's Guide to Going Vegetarian" by Judy Krizmani, it's an excellent resource with tons of recipes and facts. It also covers how to talk to your parents and friends about going vegetarian and how to keep yourself healthy with the right amounts of vegetables, proteins, fats, etc.
I hand this book out to my friends all the time! I think every vegetarian (or someone who is on the fence) should check this out from the library or buy it off amazon for $4.
Well, I don't subscribe to the idea of carb addiction. Carbs are natural...they're found in all, ALL foods(meat is only second-hand food). I agree with the poster that said refined carbs are the problem. They're un-natural. Focus on fruit - we're made for fruit.
If you have trouble with something natural, it's a problem with you, and eating right will bring you to a normalized state....where everything works naturally.
