Does anyone know of a delicious vegetarian entree recipe that can be used for a large amount of people?!
Answers: For my math project we must make a meal for a group of 130 people figuritivly. I have my starter (Thai mango green salad) and my dessert (Rasberry blackout cake with ganache-y frosting) and I am now looking for my entree. The more ingrediants the better. I want to do the added bonous and actually make the meal for my teacher but I refuse to cook anything with meat in it. If you know of any vegetarian recipe with a number of ingrediants, you would be of so much help for me. Thank You
Vegetarian lasagne. The number of vegetables you could add to it would be almost limitless, and you can use several different types of cheeses. The same would go for a vegetarian soup or stew and vegetarian chili, but lasagne is definitely the tastiest.
Make a few trays of lasagna. It's easy, fun, and most folks like it.
must be refrigerated overnight before baking to allow the bread to soak up the flavored egg and milk mixture. It's great for brunch as well. Cotija cheese is a Mexican type of Parmesan cheese that is sharper in flavor. You can use it, or substitute plain Parmesan cheese.
INGREDIENTS:
* 8 slices whole grain or whole wheat bread
* 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
* 1/2 cup shredded Pepper Jack cheese
* 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies or jalapenos, drained
* 1/2 (6 ounce) jar roasted red bell peppers, drained
* 1 cup mlk
* 1/3 cup heavy cream
* 1 tablespoon chili powder
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
* 4 eggs, beaten
* 1/4 cup grated Cotija cheese
PREPARATION:
Place four slices of the bread in a 9" square baking dish. Arrange Cheddar cheese, Pepper Jack cheese, chiles, and red peppers over bread. Top with remaining four slices of bread.
In medium bowl, beat milk, cream, chili powder, cumin, and egg until smooth.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Uncover casserole and sprinkle with Cotija cheese. Bake for 60-75 minutes until the casserole is set and golden brown.
I made some yummy green pea soup this weekend that has a lot of ingredients-split peas, potatoes, parsnips, radishes, onions, carrots, and celery....the packages of dried split peas usually have a recipe for split pea soup...just eliminate any ham or whatnot....use vegetable bullion and you're good.
Make sushi with no fish only cucumbers and avocado in.
