What vegetarian lunches should I bring to school?!

Question: I'm tired of pb&j sandwiches. Any other ideas? It has to be healthy, easy, able to last in my locker from about 7 until noon, and good tasting!

Thank you.

Thank you.

Fruit is wonderful for being away from home, as are cut up veggies.

If you're willing to buy a small thermos, your possibilities are endless. You can bring soup (homemade or canned, whatever you like and have time for), rice (I make big pots of spanish rice out of salsa and instant brown rice every once in a while; I eat some, freeze some, and take some to school for lunch), beans (Beans and rice?), or anything else that's hot. You could heat some sort of taco filling (beans, rice, tofu, premade fake meats, whatever you like), seal some veggies in another container, and bring a tortilla for tacos. You could make/buy some hummus and bring a pita pocket or some pita chips. You could make cubes of baked tofu and put that in a pita with some vegetables. I actually like baked tofu when it's cold. You might be able to find fake meat deli slices at your grocery store, but I don't know how they taste, how much they cost, or how healthy they are. I've seen them in my area, but I personally like making my own food and being creative :)

For my work lunches, I usually take a container of rice salad, made with beans or chick peas and lots of chopped up veggies, and a separate container of fruit salad for dessert. I bought one of those small cooler bags which holds a freezer brick to keep it all cool till lunch time. Alternatively, you could freeze the containers of food overnight and they'd thaw in your locker by lunch time.

Carrots are a wholesome food and you can buy bags of little carrots already cleaned. Keep some in your pocket for a tasty treat.
