I grew some killer onions down there in East Austin ten years back on 100 feet deep river bottom soil...best damn onions!! Never got good ones growing elsewhere, they like the heat abuse I guess. GA ones are good but not as big and a little sweet for my taste.

yes they are, i live in texas and their great!!!!!!

Sure.

Texas grows a nice Sweet Onion but my Fav is still Ga's Vadalia.

Yes, it is possible to grow big onions in Texas, just as it is in other states. If the variety grown meets with one's preferred use at the time, yes they can be quite good. A more specific answer would have to start with a more pointed question.

Yes-so do Georgia, Florida, Arizona and California.

Texas grows some great Granex type sweet onions but so do Ga. The best onions are the Walla Walla or Siskyu Sweets (same onion) out of eastern Washington and Oregon. I think the long day northern onions have better flavor than the short day southern onions

no........WallaWalla Washington is famous for their onions!
