Animals cannot speak or defend themselves, is it fair to kill them to satisfy our taste buds?!
A vegetarian ideology was practiced among religious groups in Egypt around 3,200BC, with abstinence from flesh based upon karmic beliefs in reincarnation.
Abstention from meat was central to such early philosophies as Hinduism, Brahinanism, Zoroasterianism and Jainism. Vegetarianism was encouraged in the the 'Upanishads' and also mentioned in 'Rig Veda' -- the most sacred of ancient Hindu texts. Pivotal to such religions were doctrines of non-violence and respect for all life forms.
Famed philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras encouraged vegetarianism to avoid animal cruelty & saw the health advantages of a meat-free diet. Pythagoras viewed vegetarianism as a key factor in peaceful human co-existence. Pls see http://www.vegsoc.org/news/2000/21cv/age... http://www.google.com.my/search?q=notabl...
Answers: Animal food is supposedly more tasty than plant based food. Many Philosophers, Scientists, Scholars, Saints and Sages have advocated abstinence from killing animals for food.

No it is very cruel to kill an animal for our taste buds
It also have it own life In Buddhist we believe in karma that mean what we done sin this life we need to repay next life it same that this life we kill the animal for taste buds next life opposite the animal kill us for taste buds
no is not fair thats why i am a vegiterian:)
Animal cruelty is absolutely not justified.
eh I don't know I like my meat. But I also love vegetarian food.
Ok no. But they can defend themselves....Sorta
Oh I don't know I just eat chicken.....Sorry
I'm not sure that I believe it's wrong to eat animals, but I do believe that the way animals are treated at factory/aqua farms is wrong, which is why I've decided to become a vegetarian. I also think that if we can healthily live of plants and avoid killing animals, then why not do it!
No, it is not fair in any sense of hte word. If it is done humanely, then yes. I bleieve it is fine. I myself am vegetarian and am against any belief of eating animals or by products.
yes it is fair to eat them, i will be eating meat today
No it is not fair. But there are MANY MORE reasons that I am a vegetarian.
Wow!! Very reliable and unbiased sources.. www..vegsoc.com
I bet the thousands of slaves for the building of the pyramids killed and imprisned by the "gentle, peace loving, non oppresive" Egyptians around 3200bc would disagree about their compassion.. As for the other -isms that yo mentioned, why would you blindly believe what they say? Which came first, their argument that made you into an animal rights activist or your activism and your deperate desire to justfy it with ancient beliefs? Lots of those "Philosophers, Scientists, Scholars, Saints and Sages" that you refer to also believed that the earth was flat, in ghosts/witches and goblins, that the sun and the moon were gods and a even a hindu goddess with six arms. You believe those too or just what fits your argument? Selective philosphy?
I don't which is more sad, your deserate attempt to qualify you beliefs with ancient texts or that you actually think it would convincing at all.
nope. it is really really really sad.
Yes. It's quite fair. Animals eat animals.
I don't kill animals just to satisfy my taste buds. I do it to satisfy my nutritious needs in an expedient manner.
exsft,
"need meat" is not the same as "want meat"
Animals are not ours to eat, wear or experiment on. I'd rather starve than eat an animal.
I'm sorry but HELL NO! No living animal deserves to die to feed someones fat face. I'm sorry if I'm being a bit offensive but we don't need meat to live. I've been a veg for 5 years now. Why should a living animal have to feel so much pain and suffer so much. Animals can somewhat defend themselves but not in slaughter houses. They're legs and wings get broken, either by being hit with metal bars or kicked or thrown. It's not fair to kill something that can't scream for you to stop! Animals scream just as we do but no one wants to really listen. If you like hunting, then that is fine for you but don't sit there with a gun in your hands and shoot any and every animal that walks in your path. Those people deserve to die. The one who do it for "fun". That's not fun, that's just wrong.
People have different views on different things. I don't think it's right to kill animals for humans to eat. Does it happen the other way around?! Up until recently I used eat meat a lot simply because I never really thought about what I was eating. Now that disgusts me and I'm glad I'm a vegetarian. :D
its ridiculous to say that it is unfair. it isnt unfair for lions or other animals to kill to eat. while we may not be carnivores, we are still omnivores (yeah yeah yeah ive heard all the arguments against this) so meat can be part of our diet. humans dont have to eat it, we have the choice. the way animals are treated is wrong, but its hypocritical to say that it is wrong for humans to eats other living things when its clearly part of nature. id have deer and cows eating all my grass if there werent humans to control the population. people are going to keep eating meat unless those animas go extinct, so get used to it.
No.
We wouldn't like it if someone killed and ate us.

LOL, your physiology determines what you NEED, not your personal taste or cravings.
no its not. but i dont wanna sound rude but u cant go preaching like this! im a vegetarian but when we preach about animals and cruelty thats when others think were pyschopathic tree huggers. meat eaters will stop insulting us if we stop preaching to them.
No it is not fair to kill them to satisfty our taste buds, only weak people do that. It has been always wrong and it will always will be wrong to kill or use an animal in any way.
LOL are you serious??? hahahahahaha.. when I hunt and kill deer before they completely die we stick ourt hunting knives down their throats and laugh... You would love that.
