Fish Alternative?!
I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian and I cannot find fishless fish (lol) to save my life. I gave up my favorite food, and now I can't find an alternative.
Does such a thing exist???
Answers: I've been a vegetarian since Fall Break, and frankly, I'm not too pleased with my local grocery store.

chicken or beef
Give yourself a break... At least have some sardines.. sardine cans also as good.
Yeah, "vegetarian fish" does exist. It really depends on what type of fish you're trying to replace.
If you liked tuna, try "tuno" by morninstar farms. I've never tried it, but from what I hear, it's either a "love it" or "really hate it" sort of thing.
If you don't mind shopping online, try www.vegieworld.com. They have several "fish" "chicken" "beef" and "pork" replacements. I've had some of them before and they're actually pretty good.
Hopefully that helps you.
No it does not!!!! you need to make sure you visit a nutritionist and ask your doctor if your body can take being a vegetarian. Doing this without help can cause serious health problems or death. (don't wanna sound like a commercial but what can i do) It can lead co skin discoloration from loss of pigment, loss of body strength and worse. Don't get me wrong vegetarianism is great! but you need to make sure you're doing it right!!! (i don't think that there is fishless fish) tofu is your best bet!
Believe it or not, but it does exist! Real-eat produce a fishless fish!
Try Holland & Barrett they have a good selection of veggie food. Alternatively, you could go onto www.goodnessdirect.co.uk
Oops ... didn't realise you're not in UK! Still, it does answer your question! :-)
What is the point? Either you're giving it up or you're not. You have to feel comfortable with that decision whether there's a substitute of not. There are many soy protein "meats", but I've never seen fake fish products. But to be honest.... don't think I'd even take that road if there was such a thing. I'm not a vegetarian, but I frequently eat the soy protein products instead of meat and enjoy them. But fake fish? For some reason.... doesn't do it for me.
Hey, me, I am 12 and VEGAN! Any body can be vegitarian, you just need to make sure you get all of your vitamins. I have not been able to find fake fish either....Look at the brands Boca, morning star and garden burger, those have big selectoins of fake meats. I thing morning star has fish sticks.
There is a vegan version of canned tuna that you can buy online, but I have never heard of a fish substitute for vegetarians that's like the chicken nuggets or riblets in the freezer section of stores. You might need to find some other food you really like and enjoy instead, unless you want to stop being vegetarian and eat fish and seafood.
You can use Spirulina which is a whole food
