How do u tell which cucumbers are fresh?!


Question: i've pick them up and whenever i slice them up, they tasted a bit off, i remembered fresh cucumbers tasting better than this

if they feel tender when squeezed then there not fresh.

are they firm of squidgy ?

if they are hard they are fresh

green and hard is your best bet. winter is a bad time for them.

They should be hard, they shouldn't give or be flexible in any way... that would be way past it's prime, in fact, if it's wobbly and loose all around. Maybe you should switch garden markets or something, sometimes produce varies from store to store in quality despite the growing season. There's one local grocery store I avoid because all their produce is just cheap, tasteless and spoils faster than other store's, without any obvious explanation. Food for thought, no pun intended.

the have to be dark green and hard if u live where it snows they wont taste as good because they have to pick them before they are ripe because if you picked them when they are ripe the will spoil before they get here
