You can purchase fondue cheese at most grocery stores. You can also mix in brandy, wine, beer or champagne for a good flavor. There are limitless combinations of spices and seasonings that you can add to the cheese. Pick your favorite veggies and enjoy.
You can do the same thing with chocolate too. I have used white chocolate, milk chocolate, a variety of liqueurs and also added walnuts, almonds, etc. I have used sponge cake, bite sized pieces of cheesecake, and fruit to dip into the chocolate.
There is a really good fondue restaurant called the Melting Pot. If there is one near you, go and try it and this will give you plenty of ideas and inspiration to do all of it at home.
Good luck!!
they sell cheese just for fondue at any store it usaully come in a pouch, apples, celery ,brocali, cauliflour, carrots, and bread are all good with the cheese
me and my daughters have our own tradition on xmas eve...we get the fondue out and melt chocolate with a little passoa (passionfruit liquor) then we dip bananas,apples,strawberries,grapes,peach... ect in it
The pot should have a recipe book as part of the instructions. Not very fancy, but it should be enough to get you started.
1) Cheese fondues, as others have said. Dip French bread and/or steamed veggies.
2) Hot Pot: Start with water or veg broth and add vegetables to let them cook. Add noodles at the end.
3) Chocolate fondue!
