its great to be a vegetarian, you'll be uber healthy and you won't feel guilty that every piece of meat you've eaten was painfully sliced off living animals who have lived in misery as we humans eat their families for our own selfish needs

ive became a veg when i was 14 with minimum junk food, and i'm still alive (11 yrs later). i think its a great decision... a much healtheir way to live! just make sure u get ur protein in other ways.

no that is not bad at all! actually that is really good! cutting meat and junk food out of your diet is great you will feel and look so much more healthy!

Are These Diets OK for Teens?
In the past, choosing not to eat meat or animal-based foods was considered unusual in the United States. Times and attitudes have changed dramatically, however. Vegetarians are still a minority in the United States, but a large and growing one. The American Dietetic Association (ADA) has officially endorsed vegetarianism, stating "appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, are nutritionally adequate, and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases."

So what does this mean for you? If you're already a vegetarian, or are thinking of becoming one, it means that you're in good company. There are more choices in the supermarket than ever before, and an increasing number of restaurants and schools are providing vegetarian options — way beyond a basic peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

If you're choosing a vegetarian diet, the most important thing you can do is to educate yourself. That's why the ADA says that a vegetarian diet needs to be "appropriately planned." Simply dropping certain foods from your diet isn't the way to go if you're interested in maintaining good health, a high energy level, and strong muscles and bones.

Vegetarians have to be careful to include the following key nutrients that may be lacking in a vegetarian diet:

iron
calcium
protein
vitamin D
vitamin B12
zinc

Just watch your iron levels, you don't want to get anemic. Eat vegetables that are high in iron.

no i'm thirteen and i'm a vegitarian and dont eat junk food i'm perfectly healthly. i'm healthier then my sister who eats meat and all that junk. just make sure you get enough protien and eat a balanced diet.

Of course not.

I became a vegetarian when I was 10 years old. Even before that I ate very little meat. My parents gave me a bit of grief for it at first but they soon realized it was perfectly fine. I haven't touched meat in over 8 years and I'm extremely healthy.

Just make sure you're consuming a healthy diet. A lot of young vegetarians eat nothing but pastas and bread with a little bit of salad every few meals. Obviously, that's not a great idea.

Make sure you're keeping your b12 and iron levels up.

no its not bad its good to not eat junk food at a young age. Its always good not to eat junk food but it is not healthy to diet est less food snf exercize to lose weight at a young age

it's not bad at all. in fact you are very right on your decision. vegetarian food is the best to nourish us physically as well as spiritually.

No! It's really good matter of fact and you actually decrease your chances of getting some many diseases and other health problems. The only thing I would say to do is to talk with your doctor and see what h/she says. I'm sure it won't be anything bad he'll/she'll just make sure when your getting your check ups to ask about your portions and make sure your getting enough of each thing you need!
