what on earth does cake have to do with being a vegetarian? vegetarian's don't eat MEAT... cake is not a meat...
And a vegan might not eat cake, but only because there is usually milk and eggs in cake, and vegans don't eat any animal products.
Not if it isn't vegan, I won't.
I can pretty much make anything "sweet" vegan. Cakes, pies, cookies, etc. You name it.
why wouldnt us vegetarians eat sweets? And for Vegans there are special recipes for things like that, with no eggs, milk, ect. but yah vegetarians just dont eat the flesh...so sweets have no effect
probebly
I sure do!
I tend to politely refuse cake if it is non-vegan (eggs, dairy) but nobody minds, 90% of the women in my family refuse cake because they're always dieting and whatnot. Besides, dinner usually fills me up as it is, I couldn't fit cake in either way.
I do eat plenty of cake, pie, sweets, ice cream, etc. as long as it is vegan. I make my own as well as buy my own. There are a lot of products that are vegan-friendly out there.
I DO!!! YUMMMY!
I don't eat sweets or baked goods made with non-vegan ingredients, but you can make pretty much any delectable vegan dessert item you might want.

Best cookbook EVAR, and some of the best cupcakes I've ever had :)
So, yes, I eat sweets :)
I don't as cakes have eggs (I make my own vegan ones)
And many sweets have gelatin in them.
If they're vegan, yes. I am a bit of a junk food junkie, and I know where to find all the vegan chocolate swag.
Green & Blacks, Endangered Species, Chocolove, Tropical Source, and Terra Nostra all make vegan chocolate bars. The first three have dark and milk varieties; the milk are vegan. Tropical Source makes vegan dark chocolate bars on dedicated machinery. Terra Nostra makes rice milk bars.
I live near a fab vegan bakery and eat there a few times a month.
Lesser Evil makes a choco peanut butter popcorn that's vegan (but sadly very few of their varieties are vegan).
B Fresh makes vegan sugar-free gum, sweetened with xylitol and supplemented with vitamin B 12.
I also like to eat Luna Bars, although they're supposed to be nutrition bars.
Alpsnack makes great hempseed bars--I love the Fair Trade Dark Chocolate.
Edward & Sons makes vegan candy, including vegan gummy bears.
There's a brand of vegan organic candy called Pure Fun; they're Canadian, but you can get their stuff at U.S. vegan online retailers. They make candy floss (cotton candy). Woo-hoo.
But I don't eat cake, cookies, baked goods, treats if they're made with dairy or eggs.
I don't eat it if it has geltain in it.....BUT, if it is vegan boy oh boy that changes the whole story!
I eat sweets all the time, why?
Depends whether you're a veggie or a vegan. I've been a vegetarian for nearly 3 years and i'm always checking labels because you can't just assume they're vegetarian. I can't eat many sweets cos most of them (especially the jelly sort of sweets) contain gelatine - basically boiled up bones, fat, tissue, skin, ligaments etc of animals. But It doesn't bother me really cos the thought of eating that c**p grosses me out. And people who ask 'whats wrong with eating cakes?' well a hell of a lot of cakes and other stuff like that have some form of animal derivatives in them - gelatin, colourings, whey powder....the list goes on. My advice is, if it hasn't got a vegetarian label on it...don't risk it. It annoys the hell out of me when people just assume...AND it REALLY annoys me when people call themselves vegetarians when they still eat sweets, cakes, cheese, chocolate etc. which DO contain animal derivatives. You can't call yourself a vegetarian then can you!? Rant over : )
I eat sweets and I'm vegetarian
