I don't understand why many vegerarians eat fish?!

Question: What separates the fish from other animals. I thought being vegetarian means you eat mostly vegetables and plants, not animals. And I'd like to hear from someone who doesn't consider a fish an animal, with EYES, a mouth, a stomach, etc etc..

VEGETARIANISM is just VEGETARIANISM.
It has it's unique philosophy. (I WOULD NOT WASTE THE TIME TO ELABORATE "TYPES" OF EATING HABIT WHICH SURELY A PHILOSOPHY COLLAPSE).

In modern concept of “vegetarian” or “vegan” often MISUNDERSTOOD. There is no need for self-acclaim, manipulation nor customize to suit you the term "vegetarianism" if you intended to consume animal, or anything derived from them. There is nothing to shame about being called as a non-vegetarian.

Diet influences the state of mind, and the state of mind influences the diet choice, there into Self Realization (Modus Operandi).

As always, action speak louder than words…Intellectual honesty is just as essential as compassion when ethical integrity is at stake. Most vegetarians would (and should) not condone the use of hateful, insulting others. They should respect and tolerate those in a different dietary group.

One seeking body-mind-spirit balance should aware that Paleolithic diet , omnivorous diet, lacto/ovo/pesco diet, VEGETARIAN, vegan, fruitarian, Raw food (RVAW), are just the order of body-mind-spirit evolution. NOTICE THAT THE POSITION "VEGETARIAN" IS UNIQUE in his/her Self Realization (Modus Operandi).

Veganism :

Veganism (also strict or pure vegetarianism) is a philosophy and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose.Vegans do not use or consume animal products of any kind. The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are ethical commitment or moral convictions concerning animal rights, the environment, or human health, and spiritual or religious concerns.Of particular concern are the practices involved in factory farming and animal testing, and the intensive use of land and other resources required for animal farming.

The word vegan, pronounced /?vi?g?n/,was originally derived from "vegetarian" in 1944 when Elsie Shrigley and Donald Watson, FRUSTRATED the term "vegetarianism" had come to include the eating of dairy products, founded the UK Vegan Society. They combined the first three and last two letters of vegetarian to form "vegan", which they saw as "the beginning and end of vegetarian".The British Vegan Society defines veganism in this way:

The word "veganism" denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals. Other vegan societies use similar definitions now.

i never understood that either..... that is a very good question! hahahahah

Vegitarians sometimes eat fish because they belive that fish dont have feelings and dont suffer while animals cry and moan and all that stuff. But a true vegitarian dosent eat fish either.

I believe there are various levels of "vegetarian". I’m not sure exactly what those are but I hope this helps…

those aren't the die hard vegetarians, they just want to be called a vegetarian, a real vegetarian doesn't eat anything that has flesh meat, but its sorta stupid because a plant is a living thing too, if u don't like eating living things than you might as well starve

I am a veggie . i don't eat fish . I think many veggies don't consider fishes as animals .

I'm not a vegetarian, I love meat. And I would guess that if you eat fish, then wouldn't really be a vegetarian. Unless your only a vegetarian because of the torture they put animal through. Then I guess fish wouldn't be counted. Do you get what I'm saying?

I think some people who still eat fish are either misinformed about fish, or maybe they haven't heard of pescatarians, and it may also be easier for them to just say they are vegetarian instead of having to explain to others what a pescatarian is.

No vegatarians eat fish it is a common misconseption people have and then call themself vegetarians when they are not. slowly people are learning or appear to be at least with not as many calling themself vegetarian. I beleve there are still a high % people in places like USA who still call themself vegetarian when they are not.
The so called flexitarians is a title more suited to these people as flexitarians are just omnivors like most of the people on the world by eating meat. (most people dont acept flexitarian as an acual thing diferent from others )

If anything eating fish is worce then cow for instance as a cows life can feed many people vruses a fish where it may take 2 to feed someone.

anyonoe who does not consider a fish an animal is nuts

Vegetarians do not eat fish.

If someone says that they are vegetarian and they eat fish, they are either lying or they don't know anything about being vegetarian.

It is impossible for a vegetarian to eat fish because once they put it to their lips, they have shown that they are in fact not vegetarian. The same goes for shrimp, worms or ants.

There are two reasons:

1. some religions prohibit eating meat but allow fish

2. people who are veg. for health reasons may choose to eat fish

A true vegetarian does NOT eat fish. If they do they are called a "semi-vegetarian".

I am 14 and my parents do not approve of me being a vegetarian they go to steak houses and other places that only have meat on their menu I only eat shrimp but I try to avoid it as much as possible if it does have something vegetarian. I will only eat shrimp though but as least as necessary. I will get one of those noodles with shrimp most places have those. This isn't an every week thing its maybe once or twice a year they go to a place w/ only meat I would defiantly say I'm not a real vegetarian but its between eating a little shrimp once in a while or going back to eating all animals

for the IRON
