Alright Gelatin and Lard is MEAT.

Gelatin is in jello, 100% gelatin actually.

Its in starbursts, skittles, marshmallows, and many more candies.

Lard is pork, mostly in beans.

Make sure you check your ingredients in candies...
also go to veganstore.com
they have so many alternatives its amazing!!!!!!

Even vegan marshmallows!
Its the best :)

Lard is pig fat. People used it to fry food..
Gelatine is made from animal bones. I think it's used to make some foods thicker

Lard is animal fat. Gelatin is a substance obtained by boiling the bones and flesh of animals, gelatin is often included in non veg*n jello and several adhesives such as some glues.

Lard is rendered pig fat. Aside from being disgusting, it is like painting cholesterol on your arteries.

Gelatin is made from, among other things, animal hooves, the collagen in cow or pig bones and other connective tissues.

Gelatin derived from animals and plants.

The skins of animals are left to putrefy or "cure" for about a month. After the hides are ripe, a tractor pushes them into a vat of acid that disintegrates the animals' hairs, skin, cartilage, etc., into a nice, tasty, homogenized gel.

Recently, S'pore & Malaysia banned gelatin from China once discovered they are extracted from the collagen inside PIG's connective tissue.

Alternatively now, both countries are importing from Pakistan, which these gelatin derived from cows. But my doubt is now, is it kosher to INDIANS?

Gelatin derived from plants are expensive. So far I know there are a few producers in India.

Gelatin always comes from animals' connective tissues and lard is refined pig fat.

Neither gelatin nor lard are ever vegetarian or come from plants but they both have alternatives.

Gelatin is pure protein derived from beef and veal bones, cartilage, tendons and other tissue. Much of the commercial gelatin today is a by-product of pig skin. so not suitable for veggie. That goes with lard too.

Gelatin is the main ingredient in Jello (along with sugar, color and flavor.) It's made from rendered hooves and connective tissue. Gelatin is everywhere... candy, marshmallows, some sour creams and yogurts, and lots of prepared foods.

Lard is pig fat. Look for it in canned foods mainly (refried beans, etc.)

These are two ingredient you'll want to exclude from your vegetarian diet. They are the two biggies; most of the rest of what you need to look out for is in plainer English. Things like chicken fat, beef fat, etc are easier to spot. Rennet, which is made from the lining of calf stomachs and used to coagulate cheese, is another to look out for. Look for brands of cheese that specify that they are rennetless or made with vegetable rennet or vegetable enzymes as "rennet" is rarely listed as an ingredient (it may just say "enzymes" in which case I'd err on the side of caution and assume that they were animal sourced.) Look for Tillamook cheeses - they have a label on the side of the package saying they're made with vegetable coagulants.

Basically, you just need to remember to read labels.
