i'm only partially vegan due to religious reasons and also because i'm still at the growing age.. i'm vegan for 10days a month to be precise so that makes me about 1/3 vegan.. at first when your body start detoxifying-yes it is really difficult for your body to cope.. especially for the first 3 days like me..i couldnt climb the stairs i usually climb everyday at school and i became very easily irritated and restless.. not to mention hungry all the time.. after that phase it starts getting easier and you'll notice that you dont wear out as easily as others and that you can even sleep better at night.. and to ensure that my body gets enough proteins i take in alot of beans and tofu.. you can even take some iron supplement.. try it.. i tried it since i was 14.. good luck

Once or twice a week shouldn't affect you. You might want to checkout a flexitarian diet, it allows you to eat meat in moderation.

You eat vegan foods every day. *rolleyes*

That's great you're interested in eating more vegan meals.

According to the American Dietetic Association (one of the leading nutrition experts in this country): "...appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases....Vegetarians have been reported to have lower body mass indices than nonvegetarians, as well as lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease; vegetarians also show lower blood cholesterol levels; lower blood pressure; and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer."

Just eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains, and you'll be fine. Good luck!

I have not eaten meat, poultry or fowl for years. Don't expect to be weak and you will feel better and stronger than ever. I had to go on a liquid fast for a few days several times recently for medical tests. I was surprised that I felt better!

When you switch, drink enough water and make sure that over all, in the week, you eat enough fiber to keep your system cleaned out.

Good luck and keep positive. You are doing something great for your health and well being. Don't undermine it by having a
negative worried attitude. I certainly do wish luck, in fact, I am sure this will be a good change for you!
