what milk do u drink and any ones that r close to regular milk? thanks xxxxxxxxxxx
Well if you try to find something that tastes like cow's milk, you'll be disappointed everytime. Try to just find something that's tasty, and don't compare it to milk.
Try Vitasoy smooth vanilla or chocolate. It's my favourite. I think Silk's also is nice and creamy, and the make coffee whitener too. Soy milk tastes different depending on the brand. Keep trying until you find one you like.
Also you may want to try almond milk. It tastes a little like amaretto. Lol!! It's very nutritious, and lighter than soy.
Another one I like is oat milk. But again it varies depending on the brand.
Keep searching, you 'll find one you like eventually.
And have a Happy New Year!!!!! xoxoxoxoxox
I drink soy milk which comes in many varieties and flavors. Try a few more. I also recommend you try almond milk which I have been using for a change. Also comes in more than one flavor.
i drink Silk soy milk cuz of the protein or any almond milk cuz of the natural calcium. go for the unflavored varieties since they contain less sugar. the idea is not to have something that tastes like milk from an animal.
i drink soy milk but i add water to it. its to strong. i dont mind rice milk. if u go vegan you cant have chocolate, ice cream, cake and all these other things. i went to a birthday party and i couldn't eat a single thing there! it sucked
I am definately NOT vegan, but have a child who was allergic to dairy when she was younger and gave me an opportunity to try alternatives.
I love chocolate soy milk, but anything else soy ( yogurt, etc.)leaves something to be desired in my book. Doesn't even taste good much less like the real deal. There are different nut milks that are tasty, but my favorite is rice milk. It tastes sweet and works wel with cereal. I have never found anything that really tastes like milk though.
silk is really good and so is almond breeze. you have to make soymilk super super cold for it to taste good.
Silk Soy Milk, but don't drink it alone. Eat cereal or cookies or something with it to get the watery taste out of your mouth.
I like rice milk. I like the chocolate flavour at the moment. I usually drink the vanilla in my tea.
Normal dairy milk is too heavy on my stomach at the moment and my sister in-law put me on it. It isn't that bad, the flavoured ones any way.
Have a look at the shop for the flavoured ones. Tastes 1000 times better than soy milk (yuck!)
Happy New Year, Technomum! :)

SOY MILK :)
NO COW_JUICE.
Mostly flesh brewed soy drink, no added sugar.
When I first tried soya milk, I did not like it either. Soya milk will never taste exactly the same as dairy, the trick is to stick at it for a few weeks. You will find that you will get used to it, then eventually come to love it. It is all about changing your tastes, you are used to one flavour and it takes time for your mind to come around to accepting another taste. After several years, I find the taste of soya milk cleaner and less cloying than milk and would never go back.
The thing is that there are many different brands and every one is slightly different in flavour. The first one I tried was unsweetened, if you are used to dairy, unsweetened is so different that is probably will taste bad. I like the chilled Alpro soya milk, I do not know if that is available outside the UK. Look for ones lightly sweetened with apple juice.
Being Lactose intolerant I drink Lactaid Milk, they also make Strawberry and Chocolate in those varieties.
Almond milk, when eaten with cereal, is close enough in consistency and taste to skim milk. I actually prefer the taste of almond milk above all other milks.
I'm not vegan, but I am vegetarian and I don't consume dairy....
I like Rice Dream rice milk. Before I became a veggie, I drank skim milk and so far, this is the closest non-dairy option I've tried. I like the consistency.
Every now and then I'll drink Silk soy milk for a change of pace. I like the vanilla a LOT on my oatmeal and cereals.
Like others have said, you really won't find a milk alternative that has the same consistency or flavor that cow's milk does. It's just an acquired taste.
Good luck! :-D
I'm a picky eater and I really like Silk Plus Omega 3 DHA soymilk. Silk Mocha is delicious but it has a lot of sugar. Good luck!
stop comparing the taste to cow's milk and you may begin to like soy milk. i drink soy milk, rice milk, and almond milk, those are the only three i have tried
I draw the line at being friends with you if you start wearing Op Shop clothes, bead your hair, and start singing 'koom-ba-ya'!!
But to answer your question even though im a dirty meat eater..... have you tried the flavoured soy milk?
I prefer Hemp Milk. Vanilla is great with cereal. I purchase it at my local Whole Foods store. However, I don't liken it to cow's milk (which never appealed to me); it has a taste all it's own! Plus it's loaded with Omega Fatty Acids.
