I thought it would be, because I loved cheese. But it hasn't ben hard at all.

I read a lot of books that convinced me of why I wanted to go vegan, but the one that ultimately convinced me that I *could* was a cookbook. Pick up a copy of "Vegan with a Vengeance" and try a few great recipes. I'd be surprised it you found yourself missing cheese.

I keep trying to become vegan, it's pretty hard. I consider myself a strict vegetarian most of the time. Cheese wasn't too difficult for me, eggs is always hardest. I only eat free range eggs though. My husband keeps trying to give up cheese and he just can't seem to do it. So, yes it's hard.

Anytime you change what you eat it can be tough to get into that new lifestyle. If you set your mind to it though you can do it!

Did you ask the same question twice by mistake? I have answered on your first post. =)

Being vegan isn't hard at all, not when you remember where the non-vegan food you are eating comes from. And there's always soy-cheese! I thought that too before become I became vegan, about cheese, but so far so good!

Vegan implies moral concern for animals. Those who have the ethics behind the goal succeed. Those who don't, won't.

p.s. Vegan is a lifestyle, not a diet.

Yep, I agree with the above, veganism is a lifestyle and if you care for the welfare of other sentient beings then being vegan is extremely easy. Also, I had no problem with giving up cheese or eggs, there are so many good substitutes if need be.

Not for the "western" vegan who is usually detached from or antagonistic towards the underlying spiritual principles. Pretty much animal activism and diet sums it up for them. No particular discipline or reflection required.

i love this site,, heaps of recipes! XXXXXXXXXX

It's not easy. The difficulty lies within avoiding hidden items and everyday conveniences along with being prepared to cope when a vegan choice is not an option.

Organic produce is fertilized with rendered animal parts and manure. That doesn't sound vegan.

Meg/vegan.conscript/et al.----where do you get this spirituality mumbo jumbo from?? More flexi logic? Spirituality is not mentioned in the definition of vegan. Do you just make these things up or are you really that detached from reality?

"Not for the "western" vegan"---as you can see from the definition (put your bifocals on) vegan is not "regional".
