Firstly Serhey34 where exactly did you dream up rule 26? I am a man, a real man, I have been vegetarian for 8 years and vegan for 2 years - I have a very happy and fulfilled wife and I've been married for almost 9 years. If you knew anything about manhood, you'd know that to be a man is to live by your values, not to bow to the pressure of a sexist majority.
In answer to the question I don't usually bother to take vitamins as I get all the nutrients I need from the food I eat. The only vitamins I take are vegan B vitamins if I haven't been able to buy fortified soya milk. I would say that calcium tablets are unneccessary if you are having rice milk and it's fortified. Iron tablets again are unneccessary, I have never supplimented Iron and I give blood regularly, they test your iron content before you give and the test is always good, never had a problem. Eat plenty of Marmite and your B vitamins should stay high too.
Take care and thank you for being a vegan, the animals, the environment and people will love you for it!

Centrum-but I prefer Beachbody waiting for my next shipment now.It does take a lot of study and you have to put a lot into it more than people care to-I think some might not want the challenge. It's all worth it to me though! I feel better and my Doc says I am much healthier because of it and I feel better than I ever have.Importantly the correct Foods and portions in order to maintain a proper balance and a Healthy You! That is what is Important! Keeping yourself Healthy and doing it the Smart way.Had to get back to this-Got a Call just when I was answering you- almost forgot where you were.
Listen to H! He knows what he's talking about!!!
You don't really need to take any vitamins if you eat right, unless you're sick, and for some reason your body needs extra vitamins, or isn't digesting the food really well, and therefore not absorbing the vitamins.
You might want to take vitamin B12 though, since you can only find it in meat.
If you eat lots of dark green veggies, you probably don't need iron or calcium. You could take it once in a while if you want just to be safe.
Good luck, and good for you for sticking to it. You're such a cool open minded, smart girl!!!!
Im a vegan, n I take some tablets, but not necessarily every day;
Vitamin B (recommend it) - make sure u get the B12
Iron
Calcium - thing is u need a whole loads of calcium, so even if a lot of products contain calcium, u need to eat loads of them
Vitamin D - unless ur our in the sun a lot :)...
Vitamin A - depends on what kind of veggies u eat, but it's ike with calcium, u need a lot of this compared to how much there actually is in most products.
If u became a vegan without first having been vegetarian for a while, I would be extra careful with getting all the vitamins etc now in the beginning n adjust the body to the new food, but it looks like u've got most things right with what ur eating.
Read some book about nutrition (if u haven't already), n u can also search the web for some page where u can calculate how much vitamins, proteins etc u've eaten for lunch etc.
Maybe it can give u some security with what ur eating.
True vegans understand the intricacies of the diet portion of their lifestyle and simple don't need or ever use supplements. Study and research to learn what foods will give you all the nutrients you need. Supplements are only for wannabe's. But you just started so you have time to learn.
I take a vegetarian multi by Solgar.
I take supplements to help my adrenals heal, C Complex & B Complex, but other than a good diet I need nothing else. Including iron, I eat lots of greens(Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard etc) they provide plenty of usable iron, more than most meats. Calcuim too.
My adreanls were mess up due to a untreated immune system problem(Celaic Disease), it has nothing to do with being a Vegan.
Slainté(to your health)
I'm 17 and I don't take any vitamins or tablets of any kind, but my doctor wants to put me on some. Even though I'm healthy. (grr...stupid doctor)
No, I've never taken a vitman and neither have my two siblings, who were also raised vegan. We've never even had a cold. It is the SAD (Std. American Diet) which is nutritionally deficient, not vegans'.
