Why are you for animal rights?!

Question: How does your belief effect you.

Answers: How does your belief effect you.

Animals should be treated humanely. Just because they're not as rational as human beings are doesn't mean they should be maltreated.

Well, we are given dominion over animals, but that doesn't mean we have to maltreat them. It's like baby sitting.

When we baby-sit, we are told to look over one's child, as a trustee. Who would ever want their children be in the hands of pedophiles, or killers?

In the same way, God has given us the chance to "baby-sit" the animals, as trustees. When we fail, serious consequences will we receive from the Parent.

When they're ripping off your windscreen wipers at the safari park, you lose sympathy.

im not vegan, but i love animals like crazy, they are just like people, they have feelings and its sad knowing that some people would actually hurt them.

I think animals deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Just because a cow is going to end up on someone's dinner plate does not give us a right to abuse it in life and death.

Look at *some* Asian cultures, they think the more an animal suffers, the better it's meat will taste. They frequently torture an animal to death because of this belief.

I believe that killing other species for food is natural and not inhumane. However, when killing them changes from killing to torture, then it's wrong. I'm not a vegetarian, but I think a lot of them don't distinguish the difference between nature and torture.

because I love my pekengese soo much...his name is gizmo...

Yeah I'm all for it. Though it doesn't effect me in any way. I still eat meat and stuff and use cosmetics. Free range eggs and all that though :-)

Because animal cruelty is wrong. Animals feel pain and they deserve to live just like anybody else. Just because they can't speak doesn't mean you can take advantage of them.

i dont agree with testing animals for products or medicines as they dont have a choice in the matter. I mean if they asked me i would say no so reckon they would too. I aint veggie tho but at least when there killed they hopefully dont know about it.

they are living creatures. they have brains and feelings. It dose not have to effect me to respect them

Because every living thing has value and should be allowed to have the best possible quality of life.

I agree with Chris S that killing animals for food is natural, but I personally choose not to eat them.

I have spent the last ten years campaigning for the ferret to get the right to vote. Sheep, cows, chicken etc are just lunch

Because animals have brains and nerves so they feel pain like people do. Plus I love animals and would never want to hurt one whether mentally or physically.

My belief & my religion " MOTHER EARTH " . We do not have the right to destroy the planet & every living thing on it. I'll leave it at that.

Animal mistreatment is a disregard for life and compassion.

Because animals are sentient beings who have the right to inhabit this planet for their own sake, they're not entertainment or food, just victims of human egoism n cruelty.

My beliefs have made me a vegan, which has affected a lot of things in my life... it's hard to go out n eat at restaurants etc, there are always people who throw stupid comments at u n u constantly have to defend urself against others for ur beliefs. It's also quite funny that believing in animal rights apparently makes u a criminal (at least in my part of the world) n ur just generally looked down on all the time. I think believing in the simple fact that animals have rights has made me a stronger person, has taught me how to stand up for myself n who I am n so on...

But the biggest effect it as had on me is probably the relief from knowing I'm not a part of a terrible cruelty taking place all over the world, harming billions and billions of animals every year, n destroys our planet etc.

When u've looked into the eyes of a bird, a tiger, a bear being trapped in a cage, heard an animal scream from pain, seen an animal being kicked on, running for their lives, heard a baby calf cry out for his mother, seen an animal being skinned alive... I don't see how anyone can not believe in animal rights...

For starters, I'm not a Peta lovin' person. They kill animals too and they're an awful organization, google it. If I have to hear one more time about how Peta loves the animals, I'm going to be sick. They actually had to go to court because they said they were adopting out dogs and they were actually putting them to sleep and throwing them in dumpsters. They blow up testing labs with the animals inside and don't think that people should own pets because we are holding them captive.

But ANYWAY, I do believe in animals rights for the sheer fact that they have feelings. Some of them have the brain capacity of a 3 year old child and they are tortured before they die so that someone can have a meal. I understand that nothing in this world is going to stop animals from being killed for food, but the way in which they are being slaughtered could be changed. It could be done more humanely so that they don't have to fear their death as much and less painfully. I believe that we should have more respect for living creatures, whether they are an animal or a human being. I think that's something that, we, as humans have lost and desperately need to regain.

I haven't eaten meat in 15 years. I was about 8 when I realized what I was eating used to be alive. (I mean, i'm not a idiot, I knew it was an animal I just didn't knooowww, ya know? haha) So- haven't eaten meat since that day. Its not like I've ever even thought about it though either- eating meat was never even an option to me. I guess when you really, really believe in something- you just don't do it.

I've never been the kind of person to tell other people to not eat meat because it's not something you can push on someone. Most people think meats delicious or animals were put here for us to eat, etc. which is totally cool with me- thats why they're beliefs, they make people different. If everyone believed in the same things, this would be an awfully boring world to live in. Quite honestly, also, I don't really give a **** what anyone else does. Thats not a "**** everyone but me" statement, thats a "people should stop trying to influence other poeple into believing what they do" staetment.

love, love,love

Because animals are cute.

i love some animals as food, i love some animals as pets, some animals i don't care for one way or the other... if they happen to eat or harvest me for food instead ( as what thousands of insects have already done, and what one hungry black bear tried to do), no hard feelings

I am for animal rights but not in a way you are expecting. Humans are animals. Animals have the right to eat what they wish. Some animals eat other animals. The circle of life.

How could I be a good person if I treated the ones weaker than me poorly?

well im also a human rights person as well, i guess the great acceptance of the human race, i can accept another animal race! so i guess the acceptance of the human race leads the the acceptance of the animal race!

For a very simple reason. Animals are sentients. They can feel. So, mean they have interests (to not suffer, to have pleasure, etc.). I'm an anmimal too (mamal, human species). So, I know what mean having interest to not suffer, to be free, to having pleasure, etc. I found no reason to not take into consideration the same interest for other species than mine. I found no reason to believe than my "desire to live" is different than the same "desire" of any other sentients animals. I found no reason to believe than my desire to not feel pain is not the same as other animals desires. So I'm 100% against specism. I'm working for a better-human-society, where animals-rights will be recognized, and where laws protect every sentients beings. Killing a pig for our pleasure should be recognized as a murder, and not as a normal thing to do.

I am not for animal rights. I am vegetarian and avoid animal products and products tested on animals, and have campaigned against factory farming, meat eating, vivisection and the fur trade, but i see that as part of a duty towards animals, not respect for their rights, because i don't believe in rights as a moral concept.

If the rights they have will enhance their flavour, I am fully supportive.

all meat is murder

I'm not.

they have the right to be yummy

I want my rights before any animals...

I believe I have the right to eat them....it keeps me from starving.
