Here is a site that lists vegetarian AND vegan fast-food chain options (read carefully, not all of them are vegan):

There's stuff you can even get through a drive-through.

Nothing too healthy on that list though, sorry to say :)

As for restaurants and sit-down areas, I have found a lot of vegan options at Chinese food places, sushi places, Mongolian BBQ places, Mexican food places, and even Italian.

Chinese food places can always just give you steamed rice and veggies, but some of their sauces are vegan. They tend to have tofu/bean curd options too.

Mexican places are great; you can ask for beans and veggies and guacamole in a tortilla, no sour cream, no cheese, no meat. It's not a big deal. People with dairy allergies customize like that as well, and they see vegetarians often, trust me.

Italian can be good. Just get pasta with a marinara sauce and steamed veggies, it might not be super-filling but it will do if you're out with others and don't have other options...

I dont exactly know what you mean by regular restaraunt, but chinese tends to have a veg section of the menu and you can get most things with tofu instead of meat, so i would say they would have the most options.

Olive Garden

The following items are meatless, but not necessarily vegetarian or vegan:

Minestrone soup (vegetable and mushroom base; no meat protein)
Garden Salad (without dressing)
Marinara Sauce (mushroom base; no meat protein)
Capellini Promodoro
Eggplant Parmigiana
Fettuccine Alfredo

Subway's veggie sub is great.
