Vegans loosing protein?!
vegans get tons of protein with bean and rice (put ogether they are a comlete protein).
nuts, tofu, soy etc.
So why do meat-eaters say that we don't get enough protein?
because it's completely untrue.
Answers: who believes that anymore?

Vegans do get tons of protein but thay have to put two different types of food together to get a full protein for example beans and rice (like you said) while meat has full proteins already in it so it seams like you get more protein if you eat meat, but you realy dont. If you know what foods to pair up to make full proteins, youll get the same amount of protein either way.
Because meat eaters are people that dont listen to reason. Meat eaters dont understand vegis and dont care to. Like hunters, they hate people who dont believe in hunting, and get very angry when you tell them you dont believe in hunting. Meat eaters dont want to be educated on where their meat comes from cause they either dont care of dont want to know that their meat comes from animals that face horrific deaths in factory farms. Look at gorillas, they have like 98% humans DNA and are many times stronger than humans and live exclusevly on a vegan diet. There is plenty of protien in greens as well as vegi meals and pasta and soy and other products. Meat is overrated and is linked to colon cancer, but dont tell the meat eaters that cause they will deny, deny, deny! They are like a cult.
Yes, I agree.
You can always get other sources of protein or anything else from other places.
They probably don't know any different... the way children are raised and educated about nutrition nowadays seems to suggest that meat is the only way to get protein, or at least, the absolute best way. Also, today's "food pyramid" suggests you NEED to get 3 servings of dairy a day - that's nonsense. What other mammal needs to consume breast milk three times a day past infancy? Especially another creature's breast milk! It's hardly a necessity.
Actually, I just noticed that "Got Milk?" ads are saying you need FOUR glasses of milk now ("24 ounces in 24 hours!" slogan). And oddly the osteoporosis rates aren't getting much better. Hmm, time to find better calcium sources, mayhaps? :)
Beans and grains put together are a complete protein, but rice is fairly low in protein as far as grains go. Oats, wheat, quinoa, buckwheat is better. In fact I believe buckwheat and quinoa are whole proteins all by themselves.
Ignorance is bliss, and many defensive omnis want to have an excuse for why they aren't vegan even though most of us don't care.
Meat producers have done an extraordinary job of seeing to it that Americans are (a) obsessed with protein and (b) positive that meat is the end all be all protein source.
I'm surprised that there are even people who still believe that vegetarians have to eat complementary proteins at each meal. This little gem is 20+ years outdated and even Frances Moore Lappe, who popularized the notion, has disavowed it. Yes, complementary protein dishes exist in almost every culture's cuisine and many of them go really well together, but you don't have to eat rice to benefit from the protein in beans.
I feel like I answer the protein question almost daily here and it gets to me sometimes, but the more people who ask and the more people who read the answers, the fewer people who are succumbing to the protein myth.
