Going vegan...?!

Question: I've been a vegetarian for 14 years now and I want to go vegan. I get what I need to avoid based on eggs, dairy, etc. But how do I know if breads and pasta are alright to eat? What brands of breads and pasta are vegan and how do I know which restaurants have vegan bread and pasta??

Do research on the ingredients. The obvious are milk, eggs, and cheese. Other common no-no's for vegans are whey and casein. Mono- and di-glycerides can also come from animals, so I've read.

You can never tell what ingredients a restaurant is using in their foods just by guessing. Even if it seems safe, it's best to do research prior to visiting a restaurant. Some chain restaurants list their ingredients on their website or you can always call and ask.

Best wishes :)

Not that this is really an answer to your question, but I hope it helps! Make rice milk, don't buy it. You can make it for about 55 cents a gallon, versus buying it at the store!

Research.

Veganism is a lifestyle not a diet.

Learn to read ingredients.
