What is your favorite easy tofu recipe?!
Answers: I'm a vegetarian and I need some ideas on how to branch out with my tofu. I am not really good with much more than using it for stir fry. I have a tofu book but there are so many different kinds of tofu and certain uses for it. Whenever I get to the store I can't figure out what kind I need for certain recipes. Sometimes they turn out really bad because the recipe didn't specify what kind of tofu was needed.Do any of you have problems like this?
Sometimes recipes calling for tofu just fall flat or really disappoint. I find it easier to watch online cooking shows and recipes being prepared online - I can see exactly what they are dealing with.
I really recommend the Post Punk Kitchen (100% vegan cuisine!)

Some of the easy-peasy stuff equals eggless tofu salad (look up a recipe, any recipe will do, most are great. I like to improvise and add my own chopped veggies to it and my own mix of spices, but it's foolproof, I've done it with firm silken tofu and it worked well too).
Another easy-peasy one is onion dip, just mix silken tofu with dry onion soup mix and some lemon juice. Dip away!
well, sometimes we heat just heat tofu (just boil...) and add some sauce to it and eat it with spoon. sauce: soy sauce+spring onion+some chillies+seasame seed+chilly powder
or cut tofu in square shapes...about an inch both ways and little less thicker than half an inch. fry them on a frying pan. only use oil and fry them till it's yellow and nice crispy. dip into the sauce i mentioned earlier and eat.

slice soft japanese tofu (it will come out like hockey pucks)then season to taste and drench in pankuo breadcrumbs then deep fry.. you can use teriyaki sauce (or its vegetarian equivlent) as condiment. You can also replace meat in traditionl recipes with firm tofu. If you are having problems, ask the grocer. They may even suggest recipes for you to try.
Also, to avoid the tofu blues (it will also get tiring if you eat it day in and dy out), don't be obssessed with it as your protein source. Try to research others which you can try.
what aji said. YUM.
you can also just microwave the tofu first but not too long or it'll "blowup" and before putting it into the microwave, use a knife to slice holes into the top to let prevent the air from building up. then take it out and pour the excess water into the sink. then add green onions, chinese chili sauce with black soybean, and soysauce to the top of the tofu. then serve.
