Tempeh is made from fermented soybeans, it tastes nutty but it's best when marinated, fried, baked and always best when it is seasoned well. It's very versatile, I grate it and use it in place of ground beef in stuffed peppers; I use it in strips in the place of beef in stroganoff recipes.

Here is a video of someone cooking with tempeh (it lets you see what it looks like, basically):

Here is an up-close look at what Tempeh looks like (just a pic):

Tempeh is low in fat and VERY high in protein.

I would say it is good for you, it is delicious.

Tempeh is made from soybeans.
It tastes similar to tofu, except it's much firmer and I think more distinct in taste. It's kind of nuttier than tofu.
It's not high in fat
It's good for you, especially if you are vegan or vegetarian because it provides protein and B12.
There are lots of ways to eat tempeh. Often times it gets used as a meat substitute. Here are some examples of things to do with tempeh:http://theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/sear...

It is like condensed tofu, usually in frozen food section.
It takes on the flavor (like tofu) of everything. Its very good, better than tofu (maybe).
It is not high in fat, but high in protien :) (thats a good thing)
I poach it for most recipes, my favorite to use it in is Veggie Jambalaya (w/veggie sausage too)
It's very good for you!
It's made of soybeans.

Tempeh is an Indonesian food made of fermented soybeans and sometimes other grains. You can buy it in small cakes. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's have them in the refrigerated foods section, but some grocery stores carry them in the produce section. It's very nutritious, high in fiber, low in fat, and quite tasty. You can crumble it into chili or marinate and cook it. It's got a nutty, chewy texture and is quite delicious when cooked right.
