What are some cons of vegetarianism?!

Question: I plan on going vegetarian soon, but I'm only cutting out meat, not fish. And I need to know how this will affect my health. I already know the pros. What vitamins will I not be getting from cutting out meat? What supplements can I take to include these vitamins?

Meat is not even a good source of vitamins. It has a modest amount of a few B vitamins, but you can get what you need by eating a balanced diet.

Please don't call yourself a vegetarian if you eat fish. It's not the proper use of the word and it confuses people. You can call yourself a pescetarian if you want a name for your diet, bu this: http://www.vegsoc.org/info/definitions.h... is what a vegetarian is.

the biggest con is you don't eat meat

since meat is the main source of protein for most people, make sure you get enough protein in other foods

You don't really need to supplement, just eat a very balanced diet with lots of variety, and you will get all you need. If it makes you feel better, take B12 and eat Amino Acids and flax seeds. Get some books on going veg.

You're still going to be eating fish, so you're not going to be lacking in too much. If you're concerned find a good multivitamin.

thats exactly what i do. but it has made me have anemia, so i have to take iron supplements. just get yourself some iron and protien supplememnts and you'll be fine

You won't be a vegetarian so don't worry about it. Vegetarians don't eat animal flesh.

Of course, fish can be healthy depending on preparation and type of fish, too. Fish is meat. The pope doesn't get to decide.

The cons for the vegetarians is that there is still cholesterol issues with the eggs and dairy and the fact that junk foods and processed foods are still legitimate vegetarian options.

If you're cutting out all meat but fish, you're not a vegetarian. Sorry.

The only cons I know of with vegetarianism are criticism from the general public and you may find it hard to find things to eat at some places.

You're not vegetarian if you eat fish.

Seriously, are you in middle school or something? Lol.. fish is FLESH.

People like you make vegetarians look like hypocrites.

I'll answer the question in the topic title:

1) People think you're some sort of irrational person, and cannot relate to your eating habits. Except, the joke's on them.
2) People may agree that you have good eating habits, and then continue eating meat. That's when you know for sure that you're not the irrational one.
3) If you have mostly meat-eating friends, you'll often have to go to restaurants with really crappy vegetarian options.
4) Your parents will rarely make vegetarian meals, and you'll start to hate them for always needing to get meat on their pizza when there is absolutely no reason to. Meaning, you'll hate them because they'd rather have meat on the pizza than make sure you can have some pizza too.

Barry, how sad lol-my dad always orders a seperate box of vege pizza for me lol.

until you cut out the fish you are not vegetarian

Until you cut out the fish you will not get the full range of benefits

Omg, your not vegetarian if you eat fish!

meat=ANY dead animal. a fish is an animal=fish is meat. vegetarians do not eat meat, you still plan to eat some type of meat..therefore, that's not a vegetarian. xoxoxox

iron, vitamin c, b6, b12, ginko biloba, ginseng, but beef is good every once and a while. not rare though rare is bad terribly bad damages health always eat well cooked steaks never rare.

u get skinny and pale
