CHEAK OUT: http://www.goveg.com/ you try the things listed below.
1) explain to your parents that you respect their wish to eat what they want, but you do not wish to eat meat.
2) explain why - animals rights, health, earth whatever your reason is
3) ask the person that cooks in your family to cook veggie for you. if they say they do not know, - I can send to many many simple cheap veggie recipes. dishes that the whole family can have or only you can have.
typically the first thing you will hear is :"where will you get your protein from ". - there are many things that have protein, it is not just meat. lots of veggie, and beans. soy, kindey, black bean. all have protein.
4) if you do not have your families support, then you can start to learn to cook for yourself. again if you need easy veggie recipes, please just ask me. - you can email me.
many veggies dishes may only need few ingredients, and can be cooked very quickly. - good luck.
Well if you want to be vegetarian then you can ask your parents to stop eating meat or something but if you wouldn't really like that then you can ask them if you guys can change to fake meat instead of real meat :3
You already asked this question...
I think you need to get yourself a book on vegetarian nutrition. You're not eating properly right now (skipping meals is never a good idea) so this transition is a good opportunity to learn how to take better care of your diet. "The New Becoming Vegetarian" by Brenda Davis & Vesanto Melina is good and it includes specific information for vegetarian adolescents.
It would be hard to give you an outline of what I eat every day because it is so varied. I'm vegan so the foods I eat are fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, herbs and spices, and all the foods made from them. This could be anything from scrambled tofu with hashbrowns and fresh fruit for breakfast, to a bean and rice burrito with pico de gallo and guacamole and lettuce for lunch, to potato and kale enchiladas with mexican rice and a salad for dinner.
Well, if you can, go with your parent(s) to the grocery store and pick out foods that you like and that are suitable for vegetarians. For breakfast I usually have some Trix or regular Cheerios with some plain soy milk. Then for lunch I'll have a mock chicken salad. I use lettuce and some meat substitute. Its by a brand called BOCA and the nuggets are made of soy protein and they are actually vegan. They taste very good, I had my dad (who is a big meat eater) to try them and he said that if I hadn't told him that they weren't meat, he wouldn't have even known since they taste just like it. Also you have fruit salads, or baked potatoes and use regular butter or vegan butter. BOCA also has some good mock ground beef (its not really beef-its soy protein), I usually use that and put in some tomato sauce and use Hodgson Mill noodles (which is egg-free and suitable for vegans). And I'll have Spagetti for dinner. It tastes very good. Mixed bags of veggies are also a good, quick meal or snack. --Not my personal favorite though :)
*Hodgsonmill and boca brands are at most grocery stores. BOCA is in the frozen food section and are in red boxes, Hodgsonmill is in the noodle section--just search for them or ask someone who works at the grocery store if they carry them. Also I gave you a link for a list of commonly used foods and drinks that are suitable for vegans and are approved by PETA. There are lots of every day products that your family and others use that are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Good luck, hope this helps!!
Tell your parents, and try to explain to them why you would like to become a non meat eater. If you want to get out of eating meat, when you are older and have your own house, they can't stop you from being a non meat eater.
HI,
you never told from which part of world you are. from country to country vegiterian foods varies.
one more thing i can suggest you, you can ask your mother that you are not liking meat or any other non-veg foods. so she can arrange other alternatives for you.
okay
