What are the benefits to becoming vegetarian?!
lack of guilt
healthier heart if you are sure to still get all of the nutrients that your body needs
Non-benefits:
Anemia if you are not careful; if beans are your sole source of iron then you have to eat something with Vitamin C at the same time or your body will not absorb the iron.
Switching all at once is hard on your body physically and psychologically: currently I have decided to stop eating mammals and just go with birds and fish for now. I will probably end up ruling out birds, too, and just eat fish in the end.
It's hard to figure out a way to get a daily dose of all of the meat-oriented nutrients, like protein and iron.
The only benefit I care about in my eating habits is the lack of guilt factor. If it is the guilt factor and you still want meat just remember that animals killed by ethical hunters die much quicker and with less pain than the horrors and nightmares that take place in the slaughterhouses that we buy meat from daily.
