I want to become a vegetarian but I am 20 pounds underweight and I have braces.?!
Answers: Please can I have some tips on gaining weight without braking vegetarian rules. Thanks!
braces should make no difference, accept you h ave to cut your corn off the cob, cut your apple up (not take a bite out of a whole apple) things like that..
Anyway.. you probably should gain some weight, and, considereing how much teenage girls are anorexic, I applaud you for wanting to do that... Remaining underweight can cause chemical changes in the brain that can cause/fuel anorexia.. Just to re-emphasize.. anorexia is BAD and DEADLY.. Anyway, what I'm saying is that it's a good idea for you to gain weight
I was a 200 lb vegetarian, because I ate mostly junk food, meat analogues, and dairy products, white breads, pastas..stop me anytime...
If you want to gain weight fast.. enjoy some cheese pizza once in awhile! (vegetarian= lacto-ovo vegetarian, defined as someone who eats no meat but DOES eat dairy products and eggs.) If you want to go vegan (no dairy or eggs) wait till you're at a healthy weight, because veganism is so HEALTHY, that it would be kindof hard to gain weight..
Anyway.. enjoy dairy products, eggs, pizza.. lots of carbs.. but don't be too unhealthy LOL>> get lots of protien and carbohydrates.. healthy and (a little) unhealthy
wish I had your problem!! I need to LOSE another 26 lbs!!!
Maybe your body is where it needs to be? Some people are naturally very thin, and some are not (but you wouldn't be asking to gain weight if you were underweight because of means like fasting/restricting).
If you want to put on weight, I'd encourage no more than 1 - 2 pounds a week, that's the most you can lose in a week and you wouldn't want to pack on as much either - for the sake of your heart and body. Also, try to work out a bit too so mostly you'll gain muscle and not fat (it is in fact possible to be over-fat without being very overweight!)
Some good pack-on-the-pounds foods include: pasta, rice, beans, nuts, avocados (these guys are 300 calories or more per avocado!), corn tortillas (to go with your guacamole and salsa?), and if you eat dairy, add cheese to things, a 1/4 cup of shredded cheese is 100 calories or more.
You might want to look up a list online of calorie-dense foods. That way you can have a lot of calories without having to eat a LOT (it will take a few plates of broccoli to equal one large handful of nuts, for instance).
Avoid high-in-fat and high-in-sodium processed foods, the weight gain isn't healthy from those in any case.
Consume more calories than you expend. And what do braces have to do with anything?
Just eat more food than you usually do and dont exercise as much.
u may not loose much eight as a vegetarian...i only lost like 5 pounds max but idk everyone is different
