Why won't vegetarians drink milk from a cow?!

Question: Why would they not drink milk? It dosent hurt the cow.

Answers: Why would they not drink milk? It dosent hurt the cow.

Because of the way the cows are treated. They are shoved in small areas which are dirty, smelly and disgusting and are abused. They also make cows get pregnant repeatedly, only to kill the baby for meat. Most vegetarians do drink milk, but it is vegans that stay away from it. Soy milk is just as good, and has all the benefits without the abuse of an innocent animal.

you're right. it doesn't hurt the cow it saves them from the hurt they would go through without being milked
you're thinking of Vegans that don't drink milk though, they also do not eat any animal byproducts or use any of them, such as leather.
but yea. Vegetarians will drink milk and eat cheese and so on

Well Vegetarians will drink milk, my cousin is one. It is a Vegan that won't drink milk!

I don't do it because it involves indirect killing of animals...

"Some vegetarians believe their choices don't hurt laying hens and dairy cows. However, vegetarians who eat eggs contribute to the death of 200 million male chicks each year. Since there is no such thing as a "layer rooster," these animals serve no purpose in the egg industry and are killed shortly after hatching. Most layer hens are kept five to a tiny battery cage, where they must stand and sleep on a wire floor 24 hours a day. Living under these horrendous conditions, a hen needs about 30 hours to lay just one egg. Even though a chicken can live five years, most hens are killed before their second birthday because their egg production declines with age.

With cows, the story is quite similar. Just as hens lay fewer eggs as they age, dairy cows produce less milk as they get older. Even though a cow can live twenty years, most dairy cows are sent to the slaughterhouse at age five. Additionally, the veal industry could never exist in its present form without the existence of the dairy industry. Since cows must be impregnated to give milk, calves are a byproduct of the dairy industry. Each dairy cow produces about five calves during her lifetime, only one of which on average will become a dairy calf. Male calves — since they cannot become dairy cows— are often sold to the veal industry for about five dollars each. The flood of cheap calves created by the dairy industry allows the veal industry to survive in its current form."

they do. it's vegans that don't drink milk. and the reason is because of how badly the cows are treated and that it actually goes back to calves and stuff and them being raised for food and taken away from their moms.......... so you probably have no idea what i am talking about because you didn't even know that vegetarians drink milk. research. then you will know

You are information deprived. Have you seen what happens to get milk from a cow? They get injured, hurt, and are manipulated to produce twice as much milk as they are supposed to and kept in inhumane conditions.

Educate yourself before posting something like this, please.

I don't drink milk.

there is many reasons to why i (personally) don't drink milk but to put it in a small simple words...I AM NOT A BABY COW, therefore i do not need or want cow's milk. :) xoxoxox

Most vegetarians do drink milk from a cow, it's vegan's that don't.
But it's because of the way the animals are tortured, in order to get the milk. Not only that, but it's supports the Veal Industry.
AND, it's unnatural. Doctors say that it's healthy, and that we need it for calcium, but there are other alternatives to calcium, we do not need cow's milk. If you really think about it, what other mammal drinks milk beyond weening? And what other mammal drinks the milk of ANOTHER mammal? It's actually disgusting if you think about it.
