Do you think everyone should try a Vegetarian Diet for at least 1 extended period in their lives?!

Question: If its not for them, then so be it. I believe I learned more about nutrition during my 2 years as a Vegetarian than any other time previous to that.

I think that is great idea! Even if it doesn't change their views about animal cruelty at least they will gain a new found respect for vegetarians and how much work and consciousness goes into their diet. Nice question!

NO! You live your life as you see fit and I'll live mine as I see fit. Don't bother me with your nonsense and I won't bother you with mine.

To each their own. If you are healthy and happy as a Vegetarian than I am happy for you.

Myself on the other hand. Human Beings didn't climb on top of the food chain to live off of salad.

yes..
i actually started this week.
i attempted a vegetarian diet last year, however i had trouble.
this time i am really determined.
i had a veggie burger the other day.
i hope i have enough determination to follow through because i firmly believe animals are mistreated.
that's my main reason for this diet.
it also has many health benefits.

you can have my meat when you pry it from my cold dead teeth. i don't understand vegetarians but it is there right to choose what lifestyle they want as long as the don't try to force there way of life on me PETA for example i have no problem with them i think PETA should stand for People Eating Tasty Animals

I think you should do what you believe in, if you believe its right to eat an animal (which it isn’t :P) then be a dick and do it. But why call yourself vegetarian just because of a diet, I think it’s your heart and what you really believe in.

I did try it for a year.
I even gained weight from it, which I thought was weird.
If you want to try it fine, just don't freak out when people offer you meat and don't know you're doing this lifestyle change.
And don't bother meat eaters about cruelty and 'do you know what they do to those poor animals?' questions. Odds are they know exactly were meat comes from. So don't bother them.
I have nothing against veggie people.
I like veggies - goes great with my steak.

I don't think I would benefit by depriving myself of something that I love to eat. Personally I don't think I could do without meat, veggies or fresh fruit for any lenght of time. I love 'em all!

I did that last night. I ate all of my pork chop first, then took five minutes to enjoy my baked potato.

Don't know much about vegetarian lifestyles but I do know that I don't eat all meat.

I won't be doing any debate of any kind.............lol
I've worked ten hours at the hospital lastnight with a "Baker Act" patient and that was no fun.I'll just *grin* if I see any silly answer cause I'm just beat :-(

Beside I'm a lover not a fighter!
Oops! should I rephrased that by writing "intelligent debates" are hard to come across but won't say that it's doesn't exists.

Well, it might stop some of the myths about how people fair on a veggie diet.

But no, people should not be forced into it.

It is true though that veggies seem to know more about where thier food comes from and whats in it, that a regular meat-eater ( obviously there will always be exceptions both ways )

yes, for me it's been 40 years......
